re: Hulu live f*cking sucks

I’m still trying to get used to it but YTTV is a much superior interface. Easier to find things and the algorithm it uses to know what you want to watch it nice.

Not being able to sort channels is frustrating and the “sports” tab is a joke for what it shows. I do hope they sort this out at some point and will likely switch back. Disney is not know for having the best IT folks and it shows here. Only positive is that I can actually watch the channels I want for now.
Think it has more to do with cost than anything else. Movies are now “events” rather than a weekly outing due to it being close to $100 to take a family of 4 to a movie over the weekend.

It pushed out the low to mid budget family movies and focus is on big budget kid movies since families are really only going to choose a couple a year to go to. Easier for families to wait for streaming than to spend that discretionary income on a movie. It’s a shame but just the world we live in.

I cancelled YouTube and got Hulu yesterday. Liked YouTube much better but not waiting for them to work this out.

I do find it amusing that somehow google is the hero on TD with this monopoly pissing contest. They both suck but at the end of the day I just want to be able to watch college football.
Can’t justify $330 or $410 per ticket to a group stage game where you don’t know the pairing. They’ve watered down the group stage so it likely won’t be a desirable game and that’s a ton of money to go see two lower tiered teams, World Cup or not. Agree with the other post above I can’t see these prices holding once the pairings come out and if they do I just won’t go. Disappointing but it is what it is.
Because for some reason the national team continues to play in the NY/NJ area where every nationality outnumbers US fans. They need to reevaluate and find a home city where it actually feels like home instead of random places where it’s a de facto road game.
It was fantastic. Just finished it and agree with all the comments on the end dragging a bit. It overall was very well done and really enjoyed it.

Was surprised they really didn’t give any closure for the obvious drinking problems he had. 3 marriages ruined by basically drinking and then Elton John’s comments plus numerous car wrecks. Did he just stop drinking one day or how did he kick the problem? They really avoided that and maybe if was at his request to not go there?
I keep looking at prices and trying to figure out what I’m willing to pay. Really don’t want to sit in the uppers but lower sections are still pretty high.
Agree with the negative reviews. I watched it on a plane because I figured it couldn’t be that bad with the RT scores and how much money it made.

It was really bad CGI and just wasn’t a good story. I didn’t care at all about the characters like you do in the first one and the whole thing felt like a money grab. Was really disappointed and still wondering how it did so well at the box office.
Agree with everything said. Non book reader here but loved season 1. Season 2 was very good but some of the storylines dragged. Still looking forward to season three
Good detailed article detailing how Wrexham put it all together this year. Long read but very interesting.

Well they seem to have priced out the small fan base they had. Raising prices every year for a mediocre to bad product on the court doesn’t promote ticket sales. Not sure what other markets pricing is but they need to be on the low end until things get better.

re: Netflix Suggestions

Man on the inside was surprisingly good. If you like Ted Danson you’ll enjoy it. Starts a little slow but finds its groove after a couple of episodes.
Really love the show but the ending was so anti climatic it just made me want to get the books. I enjoy a good cliffhanger but would have preferred some resolution to some of the season 2 storylines we really didn’t get. Maybe that’s how the books line out but finish the story and then tease the past storyline going into season 3.

Overall still one of the best shows out there for me but just let me unsatisfied with the ending.

Enjoyed the first season. Couldn’t get halfway through the second once the Covid storyline and random lesbian relationship started. Didn’t really care it went that way it was just so random and seemed lazy and stupid so I gave up.
Dollywood is a great park. Clean and friendly staff with great rides. Haven’t done silver dollar city but I’ve heard similar nice things about that one as well. Don’t think you can go wrong if that’s your main reason for going to the area
Agree this was fantastic and well done.

For those asking about the Steve Martin/martin short comedy tour I know it was on Netflix for a while and it’s also fantastic. Not sure if it’s still there but definitely worth a watch if you can find it.

re: Upload S3

As stated above it was a great start and just went downhill quickly. I absolutely loved S1 and S2 was ok but not great at all. Then S3 only made it though 2 episodes and just couldn’t do it anymore. It’s almost like the writers took themselves way too seriously and wrote this corporate drama that just didn’t belong. Either that or they ran out of ideas which is just as sad.

Really disappointed and miss the lightheartedness of S1.

Great food everywhere and really haven’t had a bad meal there. Make sure to make reservations though if you’re going to a nice resteraunt there.

Someone mentioned altitude. If you are from the gulf coast start drinking water as soon as you get off the plane and stay hydrated. Was a tip I got after a couple of trips there and it really works for the altitude sickness.

re: Best shows/movies on AppleTV+?

Can’t argue with any of the suggestions except for maybe morning show. Season 1 was good but 2 was just awful imo.

And like said above most of their content is great but it’s not a lot. For $5-6 a month it was worth keeping but think it’s going up to $12 or something like that.

I’ll also add mythic quest the list above. Pretty funny show.

It was really bad. I was talked into watching it on Disney+ with the kids and it was excruciating to sit through. CGI was awful and the acting wasn’t better. Setting it in the carribean was just dumb but I guess that’s how they excused casting Ariel. The kids didn’t like it either which I suppose is a blessing. No idea how that has a 94% audience score on RT.

On the flip side was pleasantly surprised with elemental. Scared to watch anything disney these days because they’ve been so bad but it was a decent flick.
