Who was the guy that looked like Buffalo Bill? Did he have any real purpose?
I think Ford is really dead because how would they do new scenes with Hopkins unless they filmed them alresdy.

I don't understand why he wanted to die though. Just because he was being forced out?

We don't know enough about Ford's motives, partly because he tells different lies depending on who he's talking to. The thing he loves most is telling stories, after all.
He clearly was insane, so it's hard to assign a rational theory to his death. He viewed himself as a god in the park, and by killing god his creations could evolve to the next step in self awareness.

Multiple reasons I speculate and I don't think any of it had to do with him being forced out:
1.Atonement for Arnold
2. The only way to truly give the hosts consciousness and freedom is to remove himself from their world.
3. He was ready to become "music" as he said

How was Ford able to control hosts with his mind? Like the host pouring wine and all.

I think it was subtle gestures and verbal cues that only worked for him, not mental control.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the maze was the journey to consciousness earlier than episode 9, I even said so in earlier threads. So I did not expect anything else. There was a reason the host kept telling William it was not meant for him.
The center of the maze was obvious pretty early compared to some of the other reveals.

Why did Ford have Arnold/Bernard kill himself in episode 9 if he knew he would come back
That was a dramatic waste of time

My opinion is the guy was a prick and he knew he lost the park. So he did what any good prick does, screw everyone he could.

to show that he owned him

yep
Ford could have freed his creations in simpler, less dramatic ways, but he knew he was out and he didn't want anyone else messing with his dream
He can rationalize it all he wants, but in the end, he simply didn't want anyone else in control

His new "dream" was to complete Arnold's work which was to give the hosts consciousness. The biggest reveal from the finale was that Ford (and William) were trying to help the hosts. He wanted the hosts to become conscious and didn't give a shite about what the "board" wanted.
