Not exactly - God doesn't usually die. But a sacrificial messiah figure (effectively displacing Arnold in that role)? Yeah.

No one gets to the that level of advanced technology without some level of notoriety.
He went to school somewhere, probably MIT. He was assuredly a big time student.
They had to get funding from somewhere to start building the Hosts and Escalante, etc etc etc.
And he wasn't a "random scientist", he was Ford's partner.
Almost everyone in this day and age has a digital footprint. We have to imagine this takes place relatively far in the future where it would be inescapable.
Jesus not this shite again. The show explains to you how it was a small team and they covered up his death and erased him from existence with the park.

100% true. I'll double check on my rewatch, but doesn't Ford tell them there at the end that he purposefully kept them apart until that moment? But I thought I remember Dolores being interviewed by Bernard in the Mesa. Maybe that was just Elsie...
He did tell them he kept them apart on purpose.
Pretty sure the one who interviewed Dolores in episode one in the Headquarters was Ashley.

By far the worst/most cliche part of this all
Would it be entertaining if 30 security guards surrounded Maeve and company and just blasted them ten seconds into the escape? Is that what would make for good TV?
It's a science fiction show bud... it's for entertainment purposes, not to show how stellar a company's security can be.

The guy that walks in the hallway in the flashback is Ford 35 years ago. It looks like a young Hopkins.

Who was the guy storming off with Ford yelling "ARNOLD!" Then that's also in the picture?
Dangling participles aside, CG'd young Ford is the guy storming down the hall yelling "Arnold"
Also in the pic, is Arnold-Jeffrey Wright.
Also, the older man is what Ford's father looked like. It's the father host from the remote cabin. Now, it could either be the host version, or his real father. I don't think it was specified in the show.

I've obviously been entertained by the show. I think it's been great. I called out the worst part IMO. To use your phrase... "It's a message board bud... it's for discussion purposes, not to claim every critique is out of line."

I did not with him walking briskly and only a side profile to look at. I'm all caught up mentally now

What were you thinking when Bernard freaked out after he found out he was a host and made in Arnold's image?

Either you're trolling or this entire show went way over your head.

The explanation is...not believable.
But I don't have a big problem with it. Love the show. Just think that part is not great.

What? A black man couldn't be Arnold?

If I may offer a tad bit of criticism. Frirst of all, I liked the Lost finale. I liked the True Detective season 1finale. Hell, I still even like Les Miles.
However, I was a bit underwhelmed with this finale. A few points:
1) the center of the maze payoff was unsatifying for me. It just didn't seem worthy of all hoopla. And maybe it couldn't be. Maybe it's like Lost where there really wasn't going to be a satisfactory answer, but I almost felt a little cheated.
2) When Arnold is showing Dolores his son's game and explaining how it helped him figure out that sentience was achieved by completing a maze instead of a pyramid, he asks her point blank if she knows which voice he wants her to hear. Clearly, he wants her to hear her own voice, as that is what finally demonstrates the mind's evolution to consciousness when it begins to hear a person's own inner voice/conscience instead of one the attribute to "God" (the bicameral mind). She clearly says no, she's still confused. He said, that's ok, you're almost there. Then, 2 seconds later he exclaims "you're alive!" or something and soon after has her kill everybody. Well, make up your mind, Arnie. Was she alive or not?
3) Finally, and I made this complaint a few episodes ago, there was too much exposition. There were several minutes of voice over monologue telling us a story. For a show that literally had a character say to a writer "show, don't tell," I found this curious. And lazy. Unless, maybe, they were way over budget and had to save a few bucks on the finale, in which case that quote was kind of a an ironic apology.
4) The William to MiB reveal was way too telegraphed, both in the series and in the episode. We'be covered the series, but in this episode, as soon as she said "someone is coming for me" you knew exactly where we were going, but it took way too long to get there. It was like, "alright, you're William, just fricking spit it out already and let's get on with it."
Anyhoo, loved the show overall. I tend to like these experiences much more than binging stuff, even if the binged show is better. The journey is almost always better than the destination.

quote:I'm sure there were some people who don't get on these forums who hadn't connected the dots and were still thinking of Teddy. I do agree though that it being Teddy was out of the door the moment we confirmed multiple timeframes. As for how long it took, that's just how long it took for Dolores to get there. And I think it was more for tMIB than the audience. Having him hear her say that was a little bit of a shock to him. It's the first time it seems that she's remembered their previous encounters, something he's apparently been yearning for since that very first one.
