I thought it was the car Louis Gossett, Jr. had been whisked away in.

I thought it was Angela's car too. It definitely wasn't the same car Laurie was driving around earlier.

I guess Laurie gets to go around killing all the vigilantes. I mean the guy she killed wasnt even shooting bullets, they had 100 cops there that could have taken him down without killing him and she just gets to gun him down in the back.

I thought her teammate said something like, "How did you know his body armor would stop your bullets?" or something like that. I don't think she ended up killing him (though it's obvious she doesn't care about killing bad guys).

Yeah, she didn’t kill him, not that she cared. She has become her father’s daughter.

Trent Reznors soundtrack linear notes explain a ton of backstory.

quote:

As you might be able to guess, the focus of the liner notes are mostly on music, and the way the Interspatial Toxic Event (ITE) — Veidt’s fake squid attack — changed the scene. The album itself is presented as a reissue of a controversial in-universe album called The Book of Rorschach by a band called Sons of Pale Horse, named after the band Pale Horse from the original comic. The liner notes are an essay on the history of the album on its 15th anniversary.

quote:

The notes start out describing the childhood of Chris Deschaines, one of the members of Sons of Pale Horse. Growing up in the post-ITE era, Deschaines’ father, who had been part of a Dr. Manhattan-centric cult in the ’60s, was crushed by Dr. Manhattan’s departure from Earth, and the death of Chris’ mother just a few years later. Deschaines evidently found solace from his home life in music from bands like Jane’s Addiction, which apparently still exists in the Watchmen-verse, and The Nine Inch Nails.

Exactly.

She plays it to the letter of the law which indicates she hated what the Watchmen had become and she decided to be the one to clean them up with extreme prejudice.

When the other FBI guy asked her how she knew he was wearing a bullet proof vest I kept expecting her to say "I didn't" but when she didn't that too tells us that she knew he was and she just intended to incapacitate him .... and be the one to cuff him.

There may be something to take from that, I dunno.

Headline on newspaper early in this episode: "Grisham to Step Down From Supreme Court".

So, in this universe we have Robert Redford as President and John Grisham (an attorney and legal thriller writer in real life/our world) as a supreme court justice.

Cool.

Also, when Laurie visits the young FBI agent for some fun, she gets him to wear the mask-- which harkens back to the original comic and her kinky time with Nite Owl on the Owlship, with the masks being described as "making it better"

Nice, I was trying to catch what that headline said but also trying to pay attention to Laurie telling the joke and I missed the headline.

He was more or less wearing Dan's suit from the movie.

So she just shot him and called it good because it was a rich boy who afford the real thing.

Personally, I know I'll never be able to listen to Leonard Cohen's version of Hallelujah again without thinking about that scene.

I wish that I had time to watch them twice. That's what I used to do with Soprano's/Six Feet Under Sunday nights.
