I am wondering if we’re watching Veidt go crazy due to being sidelined or I am wondering if we’re gonna see a dementia angle.
It would be interesting seeing the smartest man on earth kinda lose his wits.
Yeah I see the sidelined angle, I think he’s looking for recognition as the savior

I think after episode 3, there were so many nods to the original material that if you’re not familiar then you’re not going to enjoy this show. If you don’t know the original material, it just seems like a weird dystopian KKK vs liberal society which it’s not

I agree. I think the nods are what's kept me from abandoning it so far. I couldn't care less about race war in Tulsa, OK. But I'm hooked in now that Laurie is back, and maybe we'll see Jon and Dan at some point soon.

Now I'm thinking the trillionaire that bought out Veidt has had him marooned on Mars. Part of the buyout deal, and she probably had proof of his squid attack. Rather than undo all of that, he chose exile on Mars- in a simulated environment created by her tech. In the first episode, we see Jon coming in and rescuing Adrian.

The ratings were pretty much guaranteed to drop no matter what. Episode two was airing when the world series was going on. Losing 300k from 1-3 isnt that big of a surprise or a that big of a deal unless you're reading cosmicbook article or some other website that is overreacting/wanting to make a it look bad.

New episode title is up.
Reclusive trillionaire Lady Trieu finally enters the stage with a mysterious offer; with Blake getting closer to the truth of her cover-up, Angela enlists Looking Glass for help; The Lord trains two new servants.

Another good episode. Kept pace with the last one. Adrian checking his lobster traps was creepy as frick.

Is he on mars or the moon?
The shot of him in his prison transitioned from the moon

That was just a segue.

Yea I liked that episode. And just throwing the babies back like they were junk fish was
But the more Veidt the better, his story line is super interesting.

Jeremy Irons is killing it. Brilliant performance.

With what they've done with Silk Spectre and Ozymandias, I can't wait to see Manhattan and Nite Owl.

so it looks like lady trieu may be the GW, and i wonder is she the child of the pregnant woman that the Comedian shot back in Nam.
but nice tip of the hat to superman...kents wanting a baby and she shows up...with a baby
lube man and Veidt fishing babies out of a lake.....love this show

He had a smidgen too much "boisterous buffoon" for me in this episode. Maybe it's the incarceration? I would rather see him as more cold and calculating than boisterous.
The pond and incubator scenes were creepy as frick.
The episode was well done, it went by with the quickness of a GoT S1-4 episode. And once again Louis Gossett, Jr. reminds us how good of an actor he is.

And they watch a mysterious object crash-land on their farm.
And the child who is sent to safety as his community is destroyed grows up to fight crime with the name William Reeves.

Hmm. That child would have been born in 1971-72. So they would be about 48 now. She seems a little older than that.

No, one candle, two candles, three candles. three anniversaries. Are you saying Veidt has no problem killing them, but doesn't want to hurt their feelings? They get the day wrong, but remember the number? Why a sequential number of candles at all? This is back story. It's the third anniversary of his imprisnment. And we saw the last day of his imprisonment at the beginning of the series when Dr. Manhattan destroys the castle on Mars. That wasn't his clockwork crystal palace he made in the comic.
What Veidt did is now known by some people, but they are keeping up the facade. That's why it is still raining squids. Dr. Manhattan is doing that.
They are not his clones. I thought that as well, but they are Dr. Manhattan's creations, not clones at all.. Manhattan's last words in the comic were about regaining his interest in humanity, creating life and that nothing ever ends. Dr. Manhattan is the game warden. It wouldn't surprise if Crookshanks and Phillips were copies of himself and Janey Slater, his first woman.
There's a lot going on but I think the Veidt sections serve as the Black Freighter of this show. Lindelof did this on Lost.
and here is some confirmation, at least of the candles. He looks older too, but could just be having a bad day on set. Has anyone listened to the podcast?
All very interesting.
I missed a couple of those.
This thing is starting to have more Easter eggs in it than West World.

This episode seemed to be like “alright let’s cut the shite” and explain some things to move things along.
I’m so in on all the Ozymandias and Blake scenes and I like how it’s tying back to the Nite storyline

I definitely think I'm gonna watch this episode again this week. There was a lot to take in. Looks like a healthy dose of Tim Blake Nelson in next week's episode, which has me pumped.
This weeks Peteypedia article was pretty great. It's a transcript of when Laurie got caught by the FBI when she helped take down Timothy McVeigh. Also explains how the cops have an Owlship.
There was also this design of Laurie's Dr. Manhattan dildo lol:
