We don't really know what's going on right now. Why is it that most white people live in squaller? What happened to make America switch race roles, essentially. While the director is using race, one could see this as the Rorschach's being disenfranchised by a group that has been shown favoritism by a liberal leader. The Rorschach's could simply be fighting against the elites that have disenfranchised them. It so happens that the elite's are now nearly all black, so the rebellion jumped on that aspect to attract a more violent contingency.
If you recall, white night was about cops, not just the black cops. Regina King's partner was obviously a white dude, just look at her kids.
I have no idea what's going on either, the above is one of a few possibilities I've been tossing around. I guess what I'm saying is that one shouldn't jump to conclusions when so little has been revealed

We've only seen Keene Jr going for the presidency.
From the Gates monologue it seems the reparations don't even extend to slavery but antebellum incidents that were significant.

The kids are not her kids. She's raising the kids of her cop partner who died during the White Night. They showed her and her man, a black guy, together. And WM/BW pairings don't usually produce lily white children anyway.

No, they aren’t all black, that was kind of what I was saying. However since the Redfordations I’ve the Tulsa Riot, black people seem to have achieved a somewhat elite status in America. Which seems to be part of the rallying cry behind the Rorschachs

They are her children now, she adopted them. “Partner was white” implies he is no longer with us. She’s a cop, cops have partners. I know of no other way to say it.

On the subject of the kids. Is that oldest one a girl or a boy or some version of androgynous fitting the whole "new world" aspect of the show? I don't really care but he/she/it really confuses me thus far.

Just finished the 2nd episode. I really liked it.
I have to say. I'm not fan of SJW's, the cancel culture or any of the like so I'm kind of surprised that I'm not understanding the hate for this show.
I'm just not seeing what some of you are seeing that's causing such vitriol. Usually when the hate is that bad, I can sort of get where its coming from.
I do acknowledge that Regina King and Lindenof's quotes from that interview are fricking annoying but I guess I can just push that aside when I watch because I love her in this.

Because a lot of people on this website have just as much of a victim complex as the SJWs that they hate so much. They had it set in their mind that the show was about evil white people before they ever watched it so that's all they see.

I'll have to find the article later, but I do remember reading an article where Lindelof talked about how much he hates preachy social commentary and wanted the show to be more complex than that, including criticisms of everyone rather than just the low hanging fruit of bashing racists. He compared it to The Hunt, which we never got to see because of the same overreactions before anyone ever saw it.

I’m going to crack on bevause I love watchmen and the production is first rate but I haven’t seen anything in the content that isn’t one sided and obvious.

The advertising was bad for it as it makes it more "woke" than it actually is.
Portraying it Blacks vs Whites instead of terrorists vs cops for the main story (so far) is a huge hindrance to viewership.
It's too early to know if killing Judd off before episode 2 was worth it. I think having him alive and uncovered/framed would've been better drama but we'll see.

And what would my issues be? I haven't said a negative thing this entire thread, unless you consider me telling you to not watch a show if you dont like it as something crazy.
