The KKKloset disappointed me on two levels. Either Lindelof is going with a lazy "the Chief was bad all along" or he's doing a clumsy "someone is setting up the Chief". I hope that he'll surprise me and that it'll be neither. Even Super Gossett Jr. sort of winked at the audience with his "that seems a bit obvious" response.

Yea at first it made it seem like he was leader her to find that to prove he's part of the KKK, but after she tells him she found it I got the vibe that that was not the important part at all. So I can see there being directions to go. Is "he's a little fish in a big pond" considered lazy too?

So I got the chance to watch it last night. It was a better episode for me, just seemed paced better and creating the setting more.

Veidt, although I'm not completely sold on its really him yet, as a Republic serial villain was a bit wonky though.

So if Veidt isn't Veidt...who could it be?

He's Captain Carnage (He survived being thrown down the elevator shaft by Rorschach).

Will plays with the idea that he's Dr Manhattan when Angela questions him.

He's just fricking with her and she shoots back things Jon can't do. Like change his skin to normal flesh colors.

But it's never shown he can't, just that he doesn't care to. It's a fun little thing that the writers put in that has more tones than they imagine. She's a cop, mortal, trying to dictate limitations on godly being.

Veidt as shown so far is kind of off the rails and kinda petty vengeful. So its a is it Adrian, is it Jon wearing an Adrian skinsuit, is it Pirate story situation?

I haven't read the docs for this episode yet.

Episode one was a bit of a jumbled mess, but the second episode is much more coherent. Steady improvement, i'm going to keep watching.

FWIW, Jeremy Irons was cast as Adrian Veidt

Caught up on the show last night.

The racial tension is annoying and I would rather that not be a big part of the plot, but I’m enjoying the show for the most part.

He's been reading me saying this stuff since I watched the first ep.

This is Lindelof though. There is a nonzero chance here that it's Captain Carnage III or something.

The White Night explanation and finally elaborating on the Redparations helps the setting. Then going full magical negro with Will was hilarious.

Yes. Episode two was much better than one.

One thing that is confusing me in this thread is that my friends and I always just refer to Veidt as Ozymandias and so constantly reading Veidt is confusing me haha.

Talking to my brother about it and explaining things to him, I only say Ozymandias. He originally didnt make any connection. But he's never read the novel and only seen the movie two times.

In the comic only Rorschach has gone full Batman in which is the disguise and which the identity.

The rest all go about their lives. Even the Minutemen except for Hooded Justice have everything out in the open from their clubhouse days.

Another shitty episode, but,,,,,,, it looks like it could get better. I'll stick with it, i see potential, but Director did a shitty job with this series so far, could of been epic.

I thought that Dan had never come forward and revealed his identity. Hollis did when he wrote the book, but I thought Dan's previous life was still a secret.

I think he means that Rorschach saw Rorschach as his true identity and Walter Kovacs as his disguise. While Dan Dreiberg never revealed himself as Nite Owl, he went on living a normal life as Dan Dreiberg.

This is what I was going for.

But Dan was outted already to one detective before the series took place.

He shows up to warn him off antics. Makes a point he knows.

That's why the police are nearly on top of them from the get go after the prison raid.
