Sometimes the law gets into the way. You gotta play ball their way to get results when your dealing with people who have no regard for human life. She was only there so that the operation could be validated that everything went by the book.

Mike Vining,

add in Yellowstone season 2,3, 1883, 1923 and Landman. Sheridan has most of my favorite shows right now. Haven't watched any of his other shows.
You can dump on lot of things Sheridan but that run with Mayor of Easttown, Mobland, Landman, etc. and it’s an impressive resume.
I actually liked Those who wish me dead as well. It’s a far cry from the others but still decent.

Watched sicario for the first time a few months back and was blown away.

Why you never judge a book by its cover
He's legit one of the most badass American soldiers ever.
I love that he's become a meme.

Who did you side with Josh Broilin or Emily Blunt?
The moral dilemma is pretty common (what is right vs effective against an extreme foe) but still acted perfectly by them.

It's my favorite movie of the last 20 years.
Denis directing, Deakins behind the camera with all those gorgeous shots, Johansson's soundtrack looming like a monster in the dark. Just an awesome, awesome experience.
The sequel is good too but it was never going to live up to the original.

Agreed. I also enjoyed both seasons of Lioness.

It's a case study in developing tension. Hell, the whole movie is.
Sicario 1 is an amazing movie.
Sicario 2 is a good movie

Spoilers:
"This is gonna be on the front page of every newspaper in America..."
"No it won't, it won't even make the papers in El Paso."

Great movie. Almost hard to fathom that the writer of it now has an entire streaming network where he only writes soap operas.

Or that he was the sheriff's deputy who hooked up with the female FBI agent in Sons of Anarchy

I'm 42 and it is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I could watch the border scene (and the lead up to it) a thousand times and it would never get old.

I watched it last night and it's as good as the hype.
Benicio Del Toro is one of my all-time favorite actors.

It's refreshing to watch a movie where the tactics and weapon handling are realistic.
I don't really know anything about small team tactics and it still makes the scenes more enjoyable. I'm glad movies are moving toward realism in that sense, rather than shotguns that have to be pumped 35 times to work, rattle all the time, and blow people through walls. Also, no people walking through a hail of bullets coming from bottomless magazines while one hand behind the back no scoping bad guys with a handgun from 150 yards away.
Sicario is one of my favorite movies in that aspect.

The scene at the border crossing when traffic is stopped is absolute perfection.
The spacing was correct and without a word spoken every person in that cordon knew exactly where his first round was going (which target). All 4 cartel guys were dead in less than a second.

It's apparent even to someone like me who has never really been taught or practiced any of that stuff that it's realistic, and that makes the scene better. It's one of those soft things that really add a tremendous amount of depth to the movie, whether you really know what is going on there or not. It's a big reason why Heat, 13 Hours, Zero Dark Thirty are good movies IMO.

They killed something like 10 hostiles in about a half a second of shooting, and it at least looked extremely realistic. Glass flying, etc.
I also remember being proud of myself for catching the dude creeping up in the mirror before the camera did. It's a movie I wish I could forget and watch again.

Sicario is a masterclass in filmmaking that should be taught in film school.
The cinematography, music, sound, and acting are superb. The way the music kicks in when they fly over the border, the border scene, the walking up on the drug lord eating dinner, even the ending with the gun shots and they continue the soccer game.
Perfection.
