re: Vanity Fair laments that Captain America is 'too heterosexual'

Whenever a story sounds this ridiculous, I try to read a little more and see if something was lost along the way. The Washington Post article doesn't do a great job summarizing what the Vanity Fair article was about. Here is a quote from the original article:
You walk away from the first link thinking it is absurd to lament that a character is too heterosexual (it is), but the context of the article is more about the directors seemingly deviating from what they said during the press tour.
quote:
When Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo went on a publicity tour for the latest installment in Marvel’s Avengers franchise, they were very careful not to throw cold water on the popular fan theory that Steve “Captian America” Rogers and Bucky “The Winter Soldier” Barnes were more than friends. “People can interpret the relationship however they want to interpret it,” Joe Russo said while visiting China. “People have interpreted that relationship all kinds of ways, and it’s great to see people argue about it what that relationship means to them. We will never define it as filmmakers, explicitly, but however people want to interpret it they can interpret it.”

well I'm offended that the Vanity Fair writer dismisses they are bisexual swingers in an open relationship. Bucky being the loving and understanding life mate that he is was just happy to see Cap get some Carter family booty.

openly gay male superhero characters would not make money.

There is a reason there aren't any major openly gay characters in comic books.
Yep. Like it or not, gay people still are a very very small minority in this country and people just can't relate to gay people.
It's simple really. Men and women want to see female superheroes liking the cock. Women and men want to see male superheroes liking the pussy. They can relate to that and everybody likes a good love story as long it doesn't take away from the overall plot to outright ruining it.

An openly gay superhero hasn't worked in comics and I doubt it would work in a movie or tv show.
There's an openly gay superhero in Arrow, but maybe that's why the show has gone to shite.

This can't possibly be serious article. It can't be.
However, the way Cap was acting about Bucky...he might not be gay, but he's thought about it with Bucky.

They grew up in the 19-fricking-30s. No shite it's going to bristle with heterosexual virility. Have they lost their minds on the subject matter?

Yes, because clearly the only thing that I am referring to.

No, you're reffering to the 'pussies' ruining this country, while not giving any thought to the line of thinking that gave birth to arguments like these. Whenever I see/hear people say this shite I think about some old frick sitting on his porch ruminating about how great America used to be, when it really wasn't.

They are wrong on that point though.
I think the Russo's were trying to be PC rather than stating that "No, Cap wasn't gay," because the people that lost their shite for this, would have lost their shite for that as well.
You can't say anything definitive to the press or media because they will tear it up, blame you, then tear up your creation. Being noncommital is the only way to keep an inoffensive public image right now.
The lack of something always means the presence of something. to those who commit to completely subjective and/or relative thought. See this for an example. The lack of any definitive stance in the first two films....meant that they might be gay, rather than it just meaning that no, they were too busy to talk about girls.
And do they not remember Cap asking Sharon out in WS? No, because they don't want to.

Why the frick do people get riled up by one dumbass person's opinion about a work of fiction? Ignore these frickers and they'll go away. If they want Cap and Bucky to be butt frick buddies then go ahead, interpret it as you want. It's like people flipping out about Mark Hammil saying it's okay if you think Luke is gay because you can interpret and take away whatever you want from a character and a story. It doesn't make Luke a flaming homo who sucks all the dick in the galaxy. I hate actors, authors, and directors who get pissed off when you don't interpret there work in exactly the way they think it's meant to be taken. You put it out there for our consumption so don't get pissed when we don't see it the way you do.

They can have a homosexual Captain America when we get one of the characters from the L Word to do a film with Johnny Sins.

I am gay and that is the dumbest shite I have read.
