First, who are the dickheads downvoting everyone on this thread? These are just movies that people like. Lighten the frick up.
Anyway, here's my offering to get DV'd:
1. Patton
2. Saving Private Ryan
3. Platoon
4. Full Metal Jacket
5. Apocalypse Now
6. The Last Samurai
7. Dr. Strangelove (Need at least one comedy)
8. Braveheart
9. Sands of Iwo Jima
10. Ken Burns Series on the Civil War
I love War movies and could offer 20 more...

On page 2 and no one has put Midway (1976) on their top 10 list yet?

I'm adding Fury to your list.
Absolutely love that movie.
Also, I think Enemy at The Gates was made well and a fun watch

Good list but I don’t think I would put Hacksaw Ridge on this list. I get the whole true story thing but it just had too many war movie cliche moments for me personally to enjoy it.

Some others not mentioned worth considering:
Downfall (if not a great story, a legendary performance)
Casualties of War (Brian De Palma does Platoon)
Good Morning Vietnam (definitely has enough warfare in it to qualify)
Killing Fields (another angle of Vietnam with young Malkovich)
EDIT: Huh, I just glanced at Good Morning Vietnam and this is Adrian Cronaur's (Robin Williams) opening monologue:
Good morning, Vietnam! Hey, this is not a test. This is rock and roll. Time to rock it from the delta to the DMZ! Is that me, or does that sound like an Elvis Presley movie? Viva Da Nang. Oh, viva, Da Nang. Da Nang me, Da Nang me. Why don't they get a rope and hang me?

To clarify…
You don’t want us to rank war movies we haven’t seen?

Absolutely love that movie.
As a big fan of armored warfare I was pretty disappointed in the Tiger tank scene. Very unrealistic IMO but there were some good moments elsewhere in the movie

Fury
13 Hours
Black Hawk Down
Crimson Tide
Hunt for the Red October

Thank you!
I'm surprised Gone With the Wind wasn't also mentioned although I personally loathe some of the moral framing.
Judgement at Nuremberg might be considered. Dr Strangelove was a good mention.
I like the Glory mention of another poster. I haven't noticed anyone mention El Cid yet and if that's the case that's a glaring omission.
Seven Samurai would make sense to consider assuming it is considered war genre.
