Yup.. I thought I was just gonna get episode 4 and then episode 5 just started playing. Pleasantly surprised.

Whole Lotta nekkid Japanese folks.

Plus this show is a Michael Mann thing?

I have a love-hate relationship with Mann. I usually have to watch everything he directs twice, because the first time I am always so focused on the direction. He is the master of color and I imagine his colorist is usually pushed to the breaking point. I know he only directed the first episode but it is clear his color theory is carried through. So far scenes have been presented both in 3 color and 2 color and I am just beginning to work out the patterns. At this point, I love the filmmaking but need to watch it again to actually appreciate the plot.

shite. I’m just trying to read the subtitles to follow the dialogue. Now ima have to watch the colors and whatnot. No seriously the filming is really cool. I appreciate the depth of your analysis which now will give me another layer of appreciation for this series.

I have never been to Japan but anything I see with Tokyo as a backdrop is colorful AF. This series is perfect for Mann. I feel like iam bathed in color when I watch.

I’m loving this show so far. It’s like if the early 2000s had the social norms and customs of the 70s. Everybody rippin heaters, throwing back shots, slappin girls on the arse. Looks like a blast

Slow burn until episode 5 but really good so far overall. That ending was awesome.

I'm all caught up and enjoying it. I pictured the last fifteen minutes of episode 5 ending way differently, but I'm glad I was wrong.

Really interesting perspective of Japanese sub-culture.

I've been walking around all week calling random people GAIJAN.

Two new episodes today. It’s been on fire since Episode 5. So well written and the acting is great.

I think this might be the best show on TV right now, and I'm watching Better Call Saul as well

Agreed, why more people aren’t talking about it is sort of shocking.
