In my opinion, Annie Wilkes is one of the most terrifying villains ever. Maybe because it is real life, and not a spooky ghost/demon. And Paul Sheldon is a fricking moron the entire movie.

I loved it. A young Kathy Bates and James Cain Film.
Back when Kathy was pretty.
But, she made a great Villian. Truth was, she was never acting.
Truth is, you saw the same Character in Fried Green Tomatos as her Alias.
She is truly. A beatiful woman and a cornerstone of cimena.

My thought is because most people don't grok how back psychopaths, etc. can be. Nobody had heard of hobbling before this movie. But now that we have Lindsay Clancy being excused, there is no terror left other than gore porn.

It was a scary book. And when reading I had a tough time thinking of how I’d get out of that situation. The man was pretty banged up from the accident.
I really enjoyed the book.

Good book and good movie. That doesn't happen often.

Moron was the wrong word. But Annie sniffed out a lot of his plans pretty easily.

I read the book a year or so before the movie. Had no idea who Kathy Bates was. When reading, she is who I saw in my head. Her winning an Oscar for that movie was no surprise at all to me. Maybe the best casting job ever.

Casting tough guy James Caan was just as brilliant.
Goob job of directing by Reiner.
Just an overall well-made movie.
Don't get enough of these where everyone involved is great at their jobs.

Watched this as a 14 year old in a hotel room. Knew nothing about this movie but it was starting when i turned the TV on so I watched. Our family was not horror/scary/R rated movie watchers growing up.
Took me a while to fall asleep that night. I've never watched it again.

You have made one of the most memorable comments to have ever been posted on this website. And perhaps one of the largest blunders at the same time. Please do not edit or redact this comment. I think it's incredible. I'm never going to forget this.
