It kind of hints towards Michael being something supernatural but doesn’t go full blown into it like the later Halloween moves in the OG timeline

I loved Michael in this one. Technically there is no need for Laurie as he really doesn’t give a shite about her as they explain. He kills who is in front of him.

“I always thought Michael Myers was flesh and blood, just like you and me. But a moral man could not survive what he’s lived through. The more he kills, the more he transcends into something else impossible to defeat. Fear. People are afraid. That is the true curse of Michael Myers.”
So yea, supernatural.
Anyway, what a mess of a movie. The tone of the 2018 film was substantially better and so much more focused. This had zero idea what it wanted to be. It felt like it wanted to be a movie grounded in the slasher film you’d expect but with an overall theme about fear and how it affected a generation of people over the course of 40+ years. I actually like that as a concept and think it could have worked well, but this was just an absolute mess.
This felt like a film we would have gotten during/immediately after the 08 writers strike when so many films and tv shows were super hollow and directionless.

Movie is okay.
Michael Myers is great. People are stupid.

They lost me with the mob shite

Wouldn't Myers be in his late 60s?

The sixth movie explained why he isn't human. In a sense he is still human but was put under a curse of Thorn by members of the occult.

I thought the beginning was great, the middle with the mob stuff was meh, but then the last 20 minutes was good. Think they have a lot of stuff saved for last film and will be great so this one was just Michael killing everybody, which is what I expected so I enjoyed it

I thought it was a pretty mediocre movie even by slasher standards. I also didn't like the knife and pitchfork scenes with Tommy and that stupidly cheesy chant of, "Evil dies tonight!" The dialogue was overly melodramatic and the kills, while brutal, were boring and unoriginal. And did it bother anyone else that Michael's main targets seemed to be older men as well as women going through menopause? I realize the guy is closing in on 70 years of age, but the franchise has a formula relating to horny teenagers that needs to remain the standard.

For a movie that was built up as the town vs Michael there wasn’t that much killing. I expected to see something like the town split off into multiple groups and have Michael just wreck those groups. I loved the first one and am a big fan of slasher films in general but this one just fell flat to me. Pretty disappointed to be honest going Ends redeems it

It wasn't spread out through the movie but he probably killed like 20 people.

if you don't think the mob of angry, scared townspeople chanting shite and chasing a poor, toady looking mental patient around a hospital only to watch him kill himself out of terror is SOME sort of social commentary then...ok i guess.

Yeah, that was a weird scene to put in the movie. Didn’t really flow.

Spoilers
I thought it was pretty good. 2018 one was better. The only time I got really annoyed was when they had him hemmed up and decided a few whacks, 6 or so gunshots, and one stab was good enough and just left him laying there. shite.. 50 cent survived more than that
Maybe I’m a maniac but if I’m in the mix I’m sawing his f’ng head clean off his body.

You're not. Judy Greer should've put the pitchfork through his neck when he was laying on the stairs.

Loved it
Sucks there wasn’t a big confrontation but it was still enjoyable. Michael was a straight up dick in this movie with his kills.

My God, the dialogue was so cheesy. And the crowd kept laughing at the dumbest shite. Not nearly as good as 2018.

I enjoyed the live. It’s a slasher. I’m not looking for some deep meaning. Just looking for Michael to drop bodies. And he did.
The people who said he didn’t kill a lot weren’t keeping count. Had to be 20-30. I mean he racked up close to 10 with firefighters.

He kills 25 (although some are off screen), which is a record across the Halloween franchise.

At this point do we just accept the lack of guns in a small Midwest town as necessary plot device? There were like 3 pistols and a shotgun in the movie and no one knew how to use them. You can’t tell me there would be a few baws with ARs that have waited all their lives for this moment.
Also, the mob went way light on him when they had him dead to rights. I get that they said he was supernatural at end but I’m not sure he has the mending skills of the T1000. Let’s give decapitation a try folks.
