Thoughts on Halloween Kills

If you like Michael Meyers being brutal as frick, this is the movie for you.
I thought it was enjoyable enough. It tries some new things, some of it works, some of it doesn’t. I think the ending fell flat. The movie probably could have left some of this stuff to the next movie.
I think the one thing the movie does do well is expand who Michael is to the community at large.
The subplot that is satirizing the current mental hesth system, I’ll say I thought it was very sad. I don’t know if it belonged in this movie but it was done well.
This is probably the most brutal slasher movie I can think k of off the top of my head. A lot of shots of peoples visceral reaction as they breathe their last breathes in hopeless shock and awe of the evil that is Michael,
There’s some jerryriging with the plot. Doesn’t really matter. At least I didn’t care when watching it.
P.S. I sat next to an openly racist couple who talked all movie and were mumbling the entire time that Michael needed to hurry up and kill all the white people…..

Get up and sit right behind them. Get out your phone and play some Johnny rebel or vintage David Allen Coe right in their ears. Have your fist ready to go when the male stupidly turns around and lunges at you, not realizing that you now have the high ground.
And always use cash when buying a movie ticket nowadays, no paper trail when your actions are investigated.

Im genuinely surprised how little effort the mob makes to try and take take Michael out. You knew what was going to happen.
How are you not running over his head with a car, dismembering him and destroying him limb by limb.

I thought it was dumber than the previous chapters. Spoilers——
Ever character with a gun was a dumbass; they made extra certain to show them accidentally shooting some innocent bystander or themselves or how quickly they could be disarmed. They threw in the out of control mob at the hospital which was nuts and probably meant to be some sort of signaling, Jamie Lee Curtis never leaves the hospital and Michael Myers never goes to the hospital so no epic confrontation, it just doesn’t work. In fact there wasn’t a whole lot of drama at all. And of course when the mob had the opportunity to finish him without a doubt they didn’t; shortly afterward the police had the same opportunity and they didn’t. I didn’t go in with great expectations and was rewarded by being right, it was dumb.

Could have been the same diverse couple I sat behind during NTTD that insisted on screaming stupid shite the entire movie and whined when the black 007 gave the number back to Bond. I don't know why it's such a challenge to shut the frick up in a movie theater.
I swear to frick I'm going to go to Black Panther 2 with a bullhorn as payback.

There was nothing the crowd could do to stop Michael. Shooting them wouldn’t work. And yes, they were dumb, because mobs are dumb.

That's not racist. That's progress

Watching on Peacock right now, about halfway through the movie. It’s been pretty mediocre. The thing I’m most disappointed about, and granted they have a whole half of the second act and whole third act to go, but they said it was going to be a bloodbath, and it’s more of a blood water trickle when you turn the shower off

go to weekend showings no later than 3 pm. Problem solved. Going to a horror movie in the south past 5 pm is asking to be annoyed.

I saw the last Halloween in a movie theater in California on a school night.
I thought I was going to have the whole theater to myself, then right as the movie starts a group of kids walk in, like 14 year olds. Of course, they were jerks the whole movie.

the only issue with this is that Michael is not mentally ill. He is evil incarnate... but I can deal with it

It’s not Michael whose the mentally I’ll person. I’ll leave it at that without spoilers.

No thanks
Stop enabling these assholes.

Spoilerish, but not really.
My understanding is these 3 installments take place in a world where only the original movie took place. The beginning of Halloween Kills seems out of place unless you take that into account. Michael didn’t get away in 1978. He’s been locked up since and Laurie is no longer his sister because that part was added in H2.

Its easy to say irl, you'd be surprised how easy standing up for yourself can be.
Should try it one day.

If "Season of the Witch" was just called that and not under the "Halloween" franchise banner, I think it would be appreciated more.
