Good thing 9/11 wasn't devised by Asgardians, otherwise they'd get hung up in orbit. You know, travel ban and all.

Yeah, I'm sure Loki took that with him. Way too tempting of a prize for him.

Just got out. I thought it was pretty good. It seemed like there was a lot of themes clashing with each other. A lot of different tones. Retro sci fi, action, full on comedy, and they also had to tie it into the Marvel universe. Im not sure that everything molded perfectly, but still a valiant effort.

I loved Korg and wish there was more of him. I loved the New Zealand comedy.

Anyway, pretty good. I give it a 7/10.

I don't like how Marvel is starting to morph into full blown comedy. Its ok in GOTG but they went overboard here. Maybe its to make up for how dull and lifeless Thor 2 was.

On the positive side, Marvel has finally figured out how to have good villains this year. Ego, Vulture, and now Hela have all been high points in their movies.

Why would the Asgardians go to Nebraska when they could have the French surrendering within about a minute and a half?

Well the last time the Norse invaded France, Ragnar got paid heftily and struck down with explosive diarrhea and died. So there's that.

Just watched it today. I like it quite a bit. Hela us a great villain! One questions, if Thor is a god, can he regenerate his eye?

I give it an 8/10.

I enjoyed the movie because I feel like it really showed Thor's true power. I have seen plenty of people that have said that Thor without his hammer, would lose to Captain America. Any of those people were completely shutup in Ragnorak.

Hell I was kind of hoping he'd put the snack down on Hela for a little bit after he unleashed his power but having him still be overwhelmed by her just irked me.

I like how they needed Surtur to defeat her but I felt like after he unleashed his full power he could have been more even with her

That’s what people seem to be thinking. I’m not sold but it’s the best theory that exists.

a. Loki definitely stole the terseract (and he promised it to Thanos earlier)

b. Thor is floating around in space for Avengers 3 when GOTG find him. that would require a Thanos-level villain

these cosmic movies require that kind of comedy b/c they're just so absurd to watch

So any chance he reforges Mjornir? He said at the beginning how much he liked it.

The throwaway scene in Ultron where Cap nudges it when they’re all trying to lift it just made me think cap would wield it against Thanos

I greatly enjoyed the movie, but there were a few things that needed to be addressed.

1. The comedy was too much at times. While things like "Get help" were hilarious and fit in well, the screaming like a woman and the awkward reveal of Thor to Valkyrie in Hulk's quarters were unnecessary and took a bit too much away from the character.

2. Thor's understanding of his power needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I felt the speech by Odin at the end was a bit weak and Thor's speed at coming to his revelation happened a bit too fast for what had been presented. To me it was like the writers seemed pushed for time and just went from A to D.

3. Valkyrie's character was just too lacking in depth. Granted, not every character can have a fantastic back-story but she seemed just kinda shoe-horned in. While it works if the character is a throw-away, it doesn't for one that's supposed to be a "breakout". I would have preferred more Heimdall.

4. After the Thor snippet at the end of last year's Dr. Strange, it was a bit jerky to have the before-during-and-after part of that snippet within this movie. They should have at least made the snippet be part of some divination spell Strange had tried.

5. I would have liked to see Goldblum stretch a bit more for this part. Grandmaster is supposed to be more of a Littlefinger/Varys type in that he's always working an angle. To me, this was more akin to Jeff Goldblum playing Jeff Goldblum.

Other than that, the movie was terrific! Hulk's dominance over Banner (for 2 years!) was very unexpected, the Loki play was hilarious and fitting for the character, Loki's reaction to Thor getting rag-dolled, Korg ("New Doug" lulz!), Hela knocking over the Infinity Gauntlet and saying "Fake!" (great shout-out to the fans on that), etc.

Technically it was even longer bc of how time flows in that world.

Just saw it last night. I was pretty satisfied. About 2/3rds of the way through the movie I thought it was near perfect. The last part of the movie didn't quite sustain the same sense of tension or satisfying resolution but it was still outstanding (and at least in the conversation with the other really good Marvel movies since the Avengers/GOTG universe kicked off).

I can see the argument of those who thought there was a bit too much comedy but I still enjoyed 90% of the jokes. And a few (like the Loki revenge laugh after Hulk smash) actually made me laugh out loud. I didn't stay for the Goldblum after trailer after the mid credits trailer so I'll try and catch that to see if I missed anything relevant.

Also, I wondered if they were teasing for future characters that will be introduced with the heads on buildings other than the Hulk. Beta Ray Bill I noticed but I wasn't fast enough to place some of the others. Did anyone place them all?

And presumably Thanos or Goldblum salvages the infinity guantlet and cube from the wreckage of Asgard? Or is that something that Surtur will have to lose before Thanos can grab it up? I don't remember how they did that in the comics and would be curious to hear from other posters what the story arc originally was before the movies came along.
