I knew it wasn’t the exact same time frame, but figured it was close enough and that was why they showed that first clip. But fair enough. Although he literally says “last cigarette before I die” in that first clip I mentioned. And the cameraman (or whoever else was there) repeats it.

He got raided as well and he’s probably looking to lay low. I’m sure Carole is none too pleased they did the digging they did on her dead husband. Not sure how they would do a sequel if they didn’t get those two, Jeff Lowe (who is also probably pissed) and James the FBI informant. They’d have to really lean into those two and their feud and even then they’d need at least on of Carol or Doc.

Yep, and I'll have to dig up the article I read but Doc felt like they lumped his place in with the "roadside zoos" and used his so-called celebrity status to bring attention to the documentary.

I was rolling when he shows up to her wearing a medic jacket. He stopped to put it on at some point after her arm was torn off.
Also the way Joe tells the people in the gift about the incident and the collective gasp was fricking hilarious . He phrases it in such a way to blame her for losing her arm.
I just finished this doc in one sitting. Fantastic stuff.

In one article, he claimed that he was chief of police of a small town at the time, and it was his cop car that he crashed. Another article says that they can't find any evidence he was ever a cop in the town, and members of Joe's own family don't recall a car accident.
So who knows? I suspect Joe will tell another story a year from now about why the leg brace, cane, etc.

1) I didn't know really anything about Kirkman before Tiger King, but he did look familiar in those old footage clips of him on TV (Inside Edition? Hard Copy?)
2) I wouldn't be surprised if it came out that Kirkman accepted crack cocaine or meth in lieu of some payment from Joe Exotic. How could anyone spend that much time around him and that craziness and not do that, especially with a documented history of use?
3) Joe burned down the studio with the alligators inside, or directed someone to do it.

I think the way Joe claimed to get Travis involved in a relationship with him was funny as hell. Something along the lines of: "He said he wasn't gay so I asked him if he watches porn. He said yes and I asked him if he likes seeing a guy with a little one, or if he likes seeing a guy with a big one. He said he likes a guy with a big one so I told him that's gay." LOL
