I wasn't really reflecting on actual shows, but rather a desire that my fiction not try and tell me one political leaning or the other is "bad" - I'm capable of determining which party/ideology I think is "good" or "bad" on my own.

I watch fiction for fun, or for drama. Make me laugh, make me sad, get me pumped up...

Doctor Who is a good example. It used to be stories like, "What is morally right... to destroy this race in the past before they've done nothing wrong, knowing in the future that they will become genocidal killers? Does that make me the evil one instead of them?"

Instead we got, more recently, "Hey, here's a Donald Trump stand-in. Don't you just love it when a time traveling, regenerating alien has to deal with modern day politics?"

If 2020 was a television series...

I think the cast looks fairly solid. Pablo Schreiber is usually great. James Badge Dale is solid. Hannah Gross, Michael Mosely and David Wilson Barnes are all solid. I'm not as familiar with Asomugha (I did not watch Friday Night Lights) or Jordana Spiro. I was impressed with Dagmara Dominczyk in Succession.

So, the cast isn't the problem. I don't think this cast can save this premise.
