I didn't like this episode as much as some of the others. Don't like the mom. The kids were funny though.

I liked the backstory of this episode but I don't really understand why Eli wouldn't just call the cops after the shooting. His dad shot someone who was holding Eli at gunpoint, I can't see any jury convicting the man with Alzheimer's of anything especially in that scenario. If it's because he wanted to keep the money then he could've just hid the sack of money somewhere, right? He never had to say there was any money from Glendon just that Glendon was trying to extort him for some of his money.

there had been some bad press ( Barbera Walters interview) Glendon was passin' thru
Eli wants the past buried not just Glendon, PLUS it sets up why Jr is back
the Series conclusion is so obvious

I agree, however even if he was fully honest with the facts, including the money, with the authorities and his family saw no repercussions I am sure he was very aware of the chance of another scandal which may have been the last straw for them.
The cash is a serious confounding issue. If the police are made aware of it then it produces all sorts of motives and questions, if they grab the money and call the police there could be someone else that knows about the money and the plan Glendon had for getting Eli to launder it ie he may have told a friend about his plot and the friend could pop go to the police after finding out Glendon was shot.
This is likely a plot point that has Eli make a choice between "good and evil" and gives him a way to justify taking the money since it could make him look bad even if he had decided to do the right thing all the way around.

Because he’s gonna take the man’s cash. Can’t have anyone knowing what happened so nobody’s looking for that money.

That was probably my least favorite episode of the season. The kids just weren't funny to me. But it was a good back story and set the episodes going forward up nicely.
But pretty much any time Baby Billy is on screen is solid gold so it was good just because of his screen time. I went back and rewatched the "toilet baby" scene at the baptism last week just so I could quote it

Now we know why Martin has so much power in the Gemstones. More so than the kids.

The kids were lame and not funny at all. Baby Billy about to lose his shite during the presents scene was gold though. I just bought 5 presents but no big deal

Same, but the kid playing Jesse might as well be Danny McBride's son. Holy shite he looks and talks just like him

I picture him living with Danny McBride for a month as some sort of summer camp to learn his mannerisms

If he tells the cops Glendon was extorting him...that's probably going to make them dig just a little bit more into the shooting and whether it was accidental. I'm just not sure telling the police that someone you just shot was extorting you is a good idea

Goggins has to be one of the funniest people I've seen. I can look at the guy on TV and start laughing.

Son’s of Anarchy? We didn’t start Justified until a few years after Son’s had wrapped up. He’s one of the few actors that draw attention every time he’s on screen.
