Is it just me or do all shows that are by “max” royally suck and very cheesy?
I believe Tokyo vice and industry are Max exclusives and are probably the 2 best shows I've watched in the past few years.

Maybe it's me, I've watched the three episodes and maybe I missed the "woke" moments while I was just enjoying the show. I like that it feels authentic and not too over the top as my mom worked ER for OLOL and saw similar cases many times. Not as fast paced as this show but enough believable aspects that it is something she will text me about.
I'm primarily talking about the 2-3 comments about race in the first couple of episodes.
The trans/abortion storylines are more substantive perhaps (and for me personally, more likely to take me out of the show).

They opened the first episode with some ethnic woman falling or being pushed in front of a train or some shite. They called it a "hate crime". I then checked out.

I enjoy the show. It is the first medical show I’ve watched since ER (saw House in syndication). I like the fact it has the residents in it and the teaching aspect of it.

I mean... for the most part, it was a nothing. "Corrected" the receptionist and then the girl doctor fixed her "misgendering". They didn't make a thing of it, though. But still, you could tell they did it just to do it. Stupid, but nothing to get all bent out of shape over and boycott the show or anything.

quote:They pretty blatantly shoehorn in societal “observations” every 15 minutes or so. It’s basically part of the show at this point. I could see how those little moments trigger people if they feel attacked or threatened. I’ve nodded my head in agreement, rolled my eyes, and sometimes just went about my life when the show does it.

Just getting started but, wondering what the back story is with Carter and the pregnant black chick. Is she carrying his baby?
the subway woman's injury was pretty gruesome.
The wife going off on her dumbass husband for having gummies in his pocket!
The other couple "our son doesn't do drugs". Ma'am, he just tested positive for fentanyl.
the young student getting her feelings hurt by getting called crash.
guessing this will lead to "bullying".

Yeh she annoys the shite out if me. No humor whatsoever. Not a fan of her character
Also i think that baby in the pregnant nurse is def Carters.

Damn bro. Sorry for your losses.
Thanks. Hoping our family catches a break here soon.
Hoping the brain injury story line is done now, was going to just skip this newest episode and pick back up next week if that one was still going. I figured the fentanyl one was done since the parents had left the hospital.

Just finished episode four, maybe I missed the tranny but it wasn't a focus if they did have one. They did really well with the brother and sister and the dad dying along with Noah While character. There was a moment a frustrated patient was being racist to a nurse talking about third world countries and how they probably feel like home. Probably the only thing I noticed.

Dr. Carter’s reference to his mentor who lived in Hawaii had to be a know to Dr. Mark Greene. I perked up when he said that. Still never got over Greene’s death

It was the segment about the sommelier who cut herself. To be fair Max used a very passing tranny, but it’s still obvious something is off.

That was John Irving's "daughter".
The girl who plays Dr McKay (the doctor with an ankle monitor) is Brad Dourif's( Wormtoungue, Chucky) daughter.

The intake person called him by his given name and he corrected her saying it was "Tasha" and it's "Miss". And the young intern mentioned that they system had him/her misgendered and she fixed it. But, it wasn't "in your face" like some shows do.
The Kracken!
And... there's the Krackens dick on full display. No tits or cooter but a full 2 minutes of dick.
I was looking for the 2 sets of parents with the OD kids to get into a brawl in the ER after the one dad when after the college girl.
"you gave my son drugs!!" " your son gave me the drugs, a-hole!"

yeah, he did everything he could to describe what was happening and explain their options. The fact that it happened in the same room as his mentor dying was probably traumatic.

eh, and the guy happened to be a big redneck looking guy.
most of it is pretty low key and probably more representative of real life
