The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - WTF am I missing?

IDGAF about T&A for 8 seconds. The show is an obviously incredibly well-financed and beautifully shot, slow-moving piece of shite. I gave it 1.5 episodes and the only thing I find mildly entertaining is the idea that the club owner seems to have patterned her character in such a way as to make me think she’s channeling a 1940’s version of a misgendered Super Mario. I swear to you I kept looking for a tortoise shell or Toadstool to show up on the scene at the Club to ask her if Luigi could get an earlier time slot or some shite.
Loved Mad Men and similar stuff that isn’t action packed shoot-em-up stuff. But I just feel like I’m waiting for something that won’t ever get there with this one.
What am I missing?

Wow I dk what show you saw but I thought this show was incredibly well paced, well acted, and hilarious

You're an absolute fricking idiot.
I went into this show not knowing what to expect and came out amazed. One of the best shows there is right now. Absolutely a wonderful piece of work. And I've gotten like 5 other people on it.
Maybe give it more than 1.5 episodes.

Angry? Why would I be angry? It’s an award-winning, well reviewed and well received show. I went into it expecting her to be the lead. The title does mention the word Mrs, after all.
If anything, I’’m angry because I wasted the better part of two hours and this thing failed to launch for me.

The show is both a New York Jewish family dramedy and an underdog story with a fight against all odds to become a comic. If that's not your cup of tea there's nothing wrong with that but it won awards because most people disagree with you.

I'm really confused how someone could love Mad Men, but think Mrs. Maisel was too slow.

Everyone has certain tastes when it comes to comedians. I tend to agree that her brand of comedy doesn't appeal to me, but that's not really the point of the show.
The show was fantastic in my opinion.
