what don't you get? I said it in the post. Don't dumb movies down for kids, make them for adults and kids still love them.

Apples and Oranges.

Like I said, Star Wars was made for everyone. T2 was made for adults, but 80's and 90's culture played into how the toys and games were marketed to kids.

"Don't dumb down movies for kids" does not make sense if you are using T2 as an example. It is rated R. There's no reason to dumb it down to kids if kids aren't even likely to see it in theaters.

t isn't apples and oranges and these movies can be made for adults and kids will still enjoy them. That is the point. Star Wars could be enjoyed by everyone but it was still adult in nature

if you enjoy the slop with baby yoda mashing buttons, feel free

just can’t justify going to movies to see the equivalent of two episodes of the Mandalorian.
I'll be honest, this is kinda the way I've been feeling. I like your wording, better.

Unless this gets crazy good word of mouth, like D&D:HAT, I will wait for streaming.

I think they would've been better off doing a dual release of the movie on Disney+ with the option to watch it in theaters.

OT was for adults, PT was for kids

Lucas himself even said that the prequel trilogy was aimed at children. It’s why he made Jar Jar Binks a comic relief character in Episode 1

I don't even know who the ST was made for, but it failed to appeal to anybody except Rian Johnson fans.

Even the part where the main character murders a bunch of kids?

I’d rather a whole Kenobi movie over this boring nothingness. No big bad villain and an irrelevant quest across the galaxy. fricking yawn.

Only interesting thing they introduced in the Disney series’ was Thrawn, give us more of that.

The ST will be held in the same regard as the Schumacher Batman films. No one took them seriously and they were absolute dogshit when they came out. They also seriously lack the “cult film” status that the prequels got. There’s nothing quote worthy from any of the three ST films. They’re just bland slops of generic fan-fiction with the Star Wars IP slapped onto them.

That would require these clowns actually caring about what the fans want instead of making their vanity projects and pushing social agendas over good stories.

It’s over for Star Wars. At best, Disney will simply shelve the IP and stick to merchandising and toys which has already generated them billions alone in revenue.

This is wildly wrong. Disney will ride the corpse of this franchise as long as there's anything to squeeze out. Why would they not?

It's crazy to be saying that since I loved star wars so much growing up.
That is where we all are. ..well. . .except the Disney Wars fans on here

They are probably in the "Star Wars was never good" stage of shilling

Kenobi is a white male and doesnt fulfill disneys diversity mandates. Same reason the Kenobi show needed black woman sith and little girl Leia, needed female-centric scenes and non-white female main character.

yep. That show wasn’t even about either of the main two characters

Even when Vader is shown and should be a great scene, you have black female sith in the shot distracting from him because she’s the real focus

The Mandalorian and Grogu is far from the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the films within Star Wars, but it certainly will go down as easily the most forgettable.

So basically equal to Solo?

Just kinda meh. Only watch it if you're determined to see all the Star Wars movies regardless of suck, otherwise wait for it to stream?

Funny thing is when you got actual Star Wars (the final scene with Darth/Anaking and Obi Wan) you got a scene that was amazing

I actually enjoy Solo the most out of all the new movies.....minus the 15 minutes of Vader murdering in Rogue One.

Solo is a decent movie. Every time I watch it, I think (man, I forgot how fun this movie was) and then forget about it for 2 years, lol. It’s solid entertainment, but disposable and feels unnecessary. I love the cast, though. I wouldn’t hate a couple sequels with that cast doing low stakes space heists and mafia shenanigans in the Galaxy. The actors who played Han, Lando, and Kira all had great chemistry together.

Your post sums up my exact feelings, well done.

I thought it was the most fun of all the new movies, which in the end, is what Star Wars is supposed to be.
