Solo is a decent movie. Every time I watch it, I think (man, I forgot how fun this movie was) and then forget about it for 2 years, lol. It’s solid entertainment, but disposable and feels unnecessary. I love the cast, though. I wouldn’t hate a couple sequels with that cast doing low stakes space heists and mafia shenanigans in the Galaxy. The actors who played Han, Lando, and Kira all had great chemistry together.

Great assessment I feel like all the press leading up to it was about how terrible it was going to be and how Ron Howard was desperately trying to fix it.

That and the fallout from the the last ST movie doomed it.

I really feel bad because it pretty much derailed Alden Ehrenreich’s career, and I thought he was good in this and Hail Caesar.

I thought he did well in Weapons, also. TBH, I did not know that was him!

Given the track record of Lord and Miller (Lego movie, Jump Street, Spiderverse, Project Hail Mary), I have a hard time believing their version of Solo was that bad.

This. I really want to know what their version was like. Allegedly, it was a buddy action comedy more centered on Han and Lando being enemies to friends. That’s something I would absolutely watch.

I think the note was “too comical” and up to that point they had only directed comedies.

You hired the guys behind some of the best comedies of the previous decade and then got shocked they made…a comedy?

Yea and then you had the tease of Maul's return at the end which lead to absolutely nothing.

Solo was a fun time... I actually enjoyed it more than Rogue One. But it was on the heels of the Last Jedi so at that point, it could've been the best Star Wars story of all time and fans at large still would've hated it.

It took me a while to see Solo, but when I did I had wished I went to see it in the theatre. The remnants of the sequels kept me away from the movie for a while and that is a shame as it was entertaining.

Seeing a few reviews on this own say that grogu may be a little more active. Depending on how that is, that may be how these movies progress his story and into the next season of Mando. Kind of tired of grogu being this little baby that needs tons of support given he has trained with Luke for a season and with Mando to pass his trials. I want to see more of what he can do and how that species develops.

I never thought I would say it, but I'm going to the theater this weekend to see a previously released Godzilla movie instead of a brand-new Star Wars movie.
