Of the three choices, Lowden seems to be the best fit to me. The other two just don’t give off Bond vibes.

Still holding out hope for Cavil but it isn’t happening.

I blinked and he got too old for it.

It seems like he was just the kid in Count of Monte Cristo,

He’s 43, Brosnan was 42 when he started as bond. Roger Moore was 45.

Yeah, but at the rate they put out Bond films now, he would maybe get two in before he’s 50. Also is locked up with some other projects and hasn’t appeared on any rumored short list unless they are doing a great job of hiding it.

Would’ve loved to have seen Cavil as Bond. Seems like a no-brainer. Feels like Craig dragging out his final two movies caused us to miss out on a several good choices.

Those last two movies were so disappointing.

After I watched Casino Royale if you'd told me he'd do 4 more Bond films and 3 of them would be mediocre I'd have thought you were nuts.

I think it started with a good idea and then there was a decision to change direction. You can see during the midpoint of Spectre there’s just this weird turn and the rest of the storyline just goes off the rails.

They spent decades getting the rights back to Blofeld and absolutely ruined it with a terrible reveal and an even worse backstory. Should have ended Craig’s run after Spectre and stayed fresh after that.

Also think they needed a Bond movie after Quantum of Solace and before Skyfall. No person story. Just Bond on a mission. It was such a disjointed run for Craig.

100% and it’s a shame because you have a great actor and the global surveillance/deep state style villain is a great potential antagonist group with him at its head. But the backstory was so stupid then the turn to him wanting to quit over the daughter of Mr. White, also a great character they ruined, was just awful. The pieces were there they just blew it.

They were all there. What’s worse is that the producers complained for years how Austin Powers ruined Bond. So what did they do? They pulled an Austin Powers and made Blofeld Bond’s “brother.”

Then they went a step further by trying to tie all the movies together. Again, should’ve let that be the end of Craig.

I think they want a younger guy to get more out of them maybe. Amazon is in control now so it’s going to be a different thing.

Same.

You could tell Craig was phoning it in with every Bond film after CR. He absolutely fricking nailed it in Casino Royale but every movie that followed felt like he was just showing up for a paycheck. He could have easily gone down as the greatest Bond ever if he'd only maintained that same level of commitment and intensity throughout his run.
