Frenchie also has a very unstable past with lots of substance abuse etc. It's not shocking that he falls back into that instability. I am not shocked Frenchie gets it from both teams his character seems like someone who likes to get down with whoever he can.

Butthurt showrunner is telling 1/2 the country to not watch.

TDS gone wild.

Enjoy the Acolyte level ratings trending.

I kind of feel like the start of the season is typical of other seasons. The show always has some "slow" parts to it, but it's highs are incredibly high. I don't think this season will be any different.

The problem is that Kripke, the showrunner has gone completely mental on TDS. Homelander was never about “Trump” back when the original comic came out. Debuting in October 2006

It seems after 2016, Trump broke him.

Good call on Joe. Hueys mom, I don't think so the lawyer acknowledged the POA

I had forgot about that. Back to square one with his mom. I really don’t see where that is going, but Simon Pegg has an easy paycheck so far.

I didn’t notice the bi angle in that scene. 3 seasons of chasing Kimiko to not just being gay but performing gay sex acts.

When he was talking about turning tricks in that scene, did you think he was turning tricks with women?

Joe is a no go as well, unless Butcher gave himself the drugs to knock out Ryan

And for comparison, I don’t even care that the new hero we meet (the smartest person in the world) is a black woman. Sure that feels forced a little at first, but if she’s well written I can buy into it.

Her entry created a very subtle messaging.

Every single character, except Huey, who refers to her power is corrected from "smartest woman in the world" to "smartest person in the world". In other words, everyone's labeling her as the "smartest woman" is implying that everyone is sexist/racist because a woman being good at something (especially if she's black) must therefore be limited in the recognition.

Except, of course, for the "true hero" of the story.

Another one of those "once you see it" issues is how the people who were killed to frame the Starlighters were all men, the Starlighter beaten down was a woman. The Starlighters originally charged with beating to death those guys? Black males.

The first two seasons ranged from making fun of both sides to not even bothering with politics. This season? These are just a couple of things (there are a few more) which already stand out in just the first three episodes.

I'm still enjoying the show, but the movement to the left is moving it down my list of "must-watch" shows.

Is there any show that is not picked apart for political messaging? Does every new character get analyzed for political leaning and sexuality. This seems like it would be exhausting to try and enjoy any type of show.

This thread confirms exactly what has been running through my mind through these first 3 episodes. They have been extremely hamfisted with the political aspect of the story line. Truthcon, the Vought on Ice being about how you can’t say Merry Christmas, Sister Sage’s entire character so far.

The Sister character says something about white people every time she is on screen.

The scene with Kimiko at Truthcon when she writes bullshite on a poster for a group against child trafficking was weird. So someone with her past is supposed to get that angry about a group that wants to protect children just because they also believe there are elites responsible for some of it as well? That reaction seemed out of character for her. They did make her drunk before it but still.

One of the weird things about that scene is after she shoves the guy down she makes sign language at him. I doubt he even knew what she said but we could read the captions. It said “If you really cared about children you’d go after real traffickers instead of these fairy tales?”

I don’t get why some on the left are so defensive about this stuff but it also reminded me of how hard they went after Sound of Freedom which I think they were also taking a jab at here.

It really bugged me because they went about it in a really chickenshit way. Like they didn’t want to make it so obvious what the scene was about.

I believe at some point the Boys will be up against it this season and get help from an unlikely source. There is someone still out there that must really want some revenge at this point.

Dont forget about old Stan.

It's also absolutely hilarious that the folks on social media "shipping" Homelander and Firecracker are calling them "Homecracker".

Bro that shite isn’t even funny. Show is so repetitive with the “haha crazy right wing nut!”

ETA: I agree with the guy who said it seems like Reddit wrote this season. It’s always been left-wing, but LMAO.

If you didn't think "Sex is just a spectrum, right bro?" was funny, I don't know what to tell you.
