I didn’t notice the bi angle in that scene. 3 seasons of chasing Kimiko to not just being gay but performing gay sex acts. Hollywood is pushing gay sex to be a normal part of tv viewing for heterosexual audiences. Max has been doing this as well.
It always comes across as perverted or like one is being raped. It’s strange and just as difficult to watch as the squeal like a pig scene in deliverance.
When forced into series at the same time it seems to be taking a downturn like with Warrior it speeds up losing interest faster than I was already. I just fast forwarded over the scenes in Tokyo Vice as the scenes added nothing to the story which I was still interested in watching, but with Warrior and now The Boys I just quit watching.

I just finished episode 1, and I have to ask why TF did they have to make Frenchie gay? Unless I missed some clues from before, but it seems extremely out of left field.

When Kimiko fell out of the window and her face fell off I was thinking they missed a good opportunity for a Starlight joke right there.

Only episodes down now. But I get the feeling that Ryan may go down the Invincible path. He doesn't have the desire to rule over humankind like Homelander. At some point, he will rebel and have a full out fight against him ala Omniman v Invincible.

Kind of a slow start through two episodes. The bits with Neuman have been the best so far.
Erin Moriarty is distracting as frick every time she’s on screen because of the Skeletor look. She hasn’t had any chemistry with Hughie since the first two seasons.
The Deep still steals every scene he’s in. Him and Ashley.

If it wasn’t for Homelander, the Deep, and Butcher, I wouldn’t watch this crap.
Homelander is still the best character on TV right now.
If they made Homelander gay, I’d probably throw a brick through the TV.

Maybe. The mom character is stupid. And Jeffrey Dean Morgan has had about 2 min of screen time. Surely they are going to make better use of him. I hope. They’ll probably have a flashback to him and Butcher having a romantic relationship back in the day.

Just a guess. Joe because it’s Butcher. He has verified hallucinations and you never see anybody around when he is talking to Joe.
For Huey it’s just a random explanation as to her role in the season. Not as confident in her as Joe.

Frenchie was in a bi throuple in season 1. This is, in no way, "out of left field".

That scene was written pretty ambiguously. I didn't pick up on him being in a relationship with the dude and I watched the first few seasons multiple times, I just thought he was a close friend of him and the girl. But whatever, so he is gay now. What exactly does the storyline bring to the show?

Just bc someone wrote in an “in case of emergency, break glass” moment doesn’t mean it makes sense. Frenchie was dedicated to Kimiko for three seasons. Same for retconning comics just to say “hey it was in there!”
