Yep.

Sure you’d likely still have people bitching if there are gay characters in Star Wars at all but you wouldn’t have a 13% audience score if your show was actually written and directed well. This show has an $180 million dollar budget but there’s no scale, hardly any wide shots. The cinematography and filming look like a CW show.

Then you look at House of the Dragon and it’s filmed like a god damn movie with about half the budget.

the same "toxic" fanbase that embraced and loved Princess Leia, and embraced and liked Padme.

right, that same fanbase.

There's really nothing else that needs to be shown to these asshats at Disney. If they can't comprehend this right here, then it's obvious that what they are doing is on purpose, and they are ok not maximizing their profits.

Game of Thrones had gay shite all over it and people loved it, especially early on. STORY DRIVES ALL, no matter what our Disney apologist lefties in here think.

lots of gay and lesbian in black sails and its one of this board's favorites.

muh toxic white male syndrome.

how about toxic shite writing syndrome?

just like biden, EVERYONE knows he's awful and dementia-ridden but the entire media-politico industry props him up like he's some kind of savior.

If you were to google "Acolyte streams or viewer retention" or anything like that you would think it was actually successful. However, even Variety notes it was the seventh most watched streaming original television series last week and it's minutes are down by a whopping 31% from numbers that weren't that great to begin with a week ago. A lot of people have Disney+ (for free); not a lot of people watching. Netflix absolutely killing Disney with shows that are much cheaper to produce. Variety.

comparing minute from the month before is a better indicator comparing. weekly show to a full season drop.

losing 31% of views ain’t good

This would make sense if half the people hating on this show hadn't already admitted they didn't watch a single episode.

There were a lot of negative posts by the usuals about the acolyte before the first episode ever aired.

I have only watched the first 4 episodes and it isn't nearly as bad as the hate.

The end of episode 4 was really well done.

It isn't the Godfather but it's still an entertaining star wars story.

Of course if you go into it wanting to hate it you can find plenty of reasons to.

You mean the last 60 seconds? They decided to kill the wookie off screen, and that was definitely not "really well done" by any stretch. So you are just impressed by all those jedi pulling their sabers and a cliffhanger ending? That's what you think is really well done? An 8 year old could write that scene. What do you find so "really well done" about it?

So you think they should've shown the sith apprentice kill the wookie on screen so we'd all know who it was and kill the entire point of the mystery plot they are going for?

Killing off a very minor character offscreen isnt some show ruining writing, he had like 3 minutes screen time the entire season.

You don’t know who the Sith is already?
It’s pretty obvious.

Yeah definitely no other way they could show the death on screen. Not surprising neither they nor you has any more imagination than that.

Kill from the shadows, kill in the dark with just a lightsaber letting you see very small details.

It’s not like they don’t also reveal that same person in the Same episode with a mask on.
