Wookie jedi are incredibly rare. He deserved better. If you're going to bring in a character like that, you need to do it appropriate service.

This would make sense if half the people hating on this show hadn't already admitted they didn't watch a single episode.

There were a lot of negative posts by the usuals about the acolyte before the first episode ever aired.

I have only watched the first 4 episodes and it isn't nearly as bad as the hate.

The end of episode 4 was really well done.

It isn't the Godfather but it's still an entertaining star wars story.

Of course if you go into it wanting to hate it you can find plenty of reasons to.

Considering there were only 4 episodes before me writing this comment, you've seen all the show had to offer. the END of episode 4 was 'okay' ... the rest of the episode was redundant fluff. the conversations between characters make either no sense or are all exposition.

how is it an entertaining story, let alone a Star Wars story?! the twist that the antagonist has a twin was the only intrigue the show had going for it and they blew that as soon as they could.

I have watched the show (and will finish it to see how it can get worse) and they've gone out of their way to break the lore and smear the existing SW cannon.

Yeah, plenty of people hated the show before it started because Disney and LucasFilm antagonized the fanbase by saying if you don't like this show you're an -ist or a -phobe. They ran all the pre-show bullshite mocking the fans that they should be trying to entertain.

Lesbian space witches who create life using The Force / The Thread isn't Star Wars. It's the showrunner's (who was the former personal assistant to Harvey Weinstein) deliberate shitting on a fanbase.

The Night-Sisters of Dathomyr were an all-female coven of witches that Palpatine actually feared ...but they acknowledged that the men of Dathomyr existed and used them to procreate

so yes, the show IS as bad as the hate, but what Disney and LucasFilm have done to antagonize and blame the fanbase is much worse.

How would we have known who it was? Whoever it is wears a mask and we saw them shortly after anyway.

Their imagination consists of "put a chick in it and make it lame and gay" and white man bad. That's it. That's all they got.

I don't watch TV shows and try to think of ways I could change it to make it better. That's pointless.

Could I have made game of thrones season 6/7 better, absolutely. That doesn't change what we have tho.

The entire point of a tv show is you are watching one version of a story.

The point is to be entertained. We all want to be entertained. The show is not entertaining. So we imagine ways that it could be....more entertaining.

You are really really stuck on trying to polish this terd of a show. Why?

I like the show, you do you.

Maybe if I had realized how rare wookie jedis are and that the made up wookie jedi character needed to be handled with the utmost care and respect I wouldve been angry about him dying like that too. But I never paid attention to the expanded universe star wars lore.

So you think they should've shown the sith apprentice kill the wookie on screen so we'd all know who it was and kill the entire point of the mystery plot they are going for?

You mean the "sith" with a mask on?
And it's pretty obvious it's the black mom. Who else would want to kill the 4 jedi that came and visited their lesbo coven peacefully. The choices of who it could be woudl be one of the twins, or one of the two moms. No one else has a vendetta against those 4 specific jedi, who didn't even kill their little lesbo party, Osha did, which by the way was so fricking stupid that an all concrete building went up in flames. And it makes no sense why they all died. Am i to believe one of the jedi massacred every single one of them as they stood together, since they were all laying on the ground by each other dead. Or did they die of smoke inhalation in the open volcano looking lair they were in?

A Wookie jedi a minor character? You throw out a character like that then you better be ready to entertain me with her. I'm not calling that wookie a he when she clearly looked like a woman. There's nothing minor about putting the first wookie jedi on the big screen.

There were two things that stood out in the trailer for this shitshow. Carrie Ann-Moss as a Matrix Jedi and a Wookie Jedi. And we got much of nothing from them. Pointless.
And then we get the one white jedi feel so bad about what i'm not sure, that he suicides himself, b/c that's the jedi way.
This show is fricking stupid.

Dude you realize this is all fake right? There never were and never will be any wookies or jedi.

This isn't like Daniel Day-Lewis portraying Lincoln.

If someone else in one of the other 16 star wars shows wants to make a Wookie jedi show they can. Noone else has wanted to do it, and apparently the acolyte didn't wanna make a show revolving around one either.

He hates the type of people he believes hates the show, and Disney.

He is committed to "liking" and defending anything "those types" dislike.

It is just a convoluted form of virtue signaling, with no difference in point or level of cringe.

At least Sammy can admit it is bad, he just thinks we are too hard on it. But I think Sammy is doing the SFP thing, where he takes a position he knows is dumb, to see if he can defend it. . .or maybe I am giving him too much credit. I do that sometimes

Is "asking questions" gonna change the next episode of the show or something I'm missing?

This isn't game of thrones where I'm gonna debate the mysteries of the show with other people online, it's just a 30 minute star wars show to check out once a week and then turn it off and move on with my life.

From Forbes

quote:

In Three Weeks ‘The Acolyte’ Has More Audience Reviews Than Three Seasons Of ‘The Mandalorian’

quote:

You may not like The Acolyte, but don’t look me in the eye and tell me it’s not being review bombed to hell and back.

The Disney era of Star Wars has been full of debates about quality, canon, oversaturation and contained a mix of good and bad projects. But I have not seen this kind of backlash to a project since The Last Jedi, and things have gotten just absolutely ridiculous at this point.

There is this idea that The Acolyte is not being “review bombed,” it’s just really that bad. But the data here is absurd, showing a clear tidal wave of users racing to make it the lowest user-scored product in 50 years of Star Wars history, and it’s amassed quadruple the reviews of the longest-running Star Wars series, The Clone Wars. The only thing even close is three seasons across five years of the massively-watched Mandalorian, and even then, that falls well short. Here’s the list of total user scores by TV project, across all of their seasons.

The Acolyte – 25,000
The Mandalorian – 17,500
Obi-Wan Kenobi – 10,000
The Clone Wars – 6,000
Andor – 5,000
Ahsoka – 5,000
The Book of Boba Fett – 2,500
Rebels – 2,000

Again, we are on week three of The Acolyte, just halfway through the series, and we’ve reached these numbers. And of course the intent is to drive down the user score as low as possible. It’s down to 13%, miles below everything else, even The Last Jedi, even the Star Wars Holiday Special when its biggest controversies have been an as-of-yet-unresolved mention of the force-sensitive twins not having a father, and Ki-Adi-Mundi’s birthdate which was altered from the non-canon EU.

Three combined seasons of the Mandalorian aren't as bad and lore decimating as 4 episodes of The Acolyte

If 25k Star Wars fans saw the show, I believe 25k would give it shite reviews.

If it were all Disney Wars tourists that saw the show, I'd say the author would have a point.

Wow that tells a huge story about the world we live in now.

Something great like Andor/The Clone Wars gets barely any attention, while the acolyte gets 5x the votes and a 1750+ post thread here because angry neckbeards lashing out.

I bet the YouTube critics are really thankful for all the revenue the Acolyte has generated for them with content.

Rage clicks outnumber content on any of the "good" shows.

Meh, you are probably right. They can be lazy.

Probably take 30k to see this garbage to get 25k reviews.
