His programming only allows for myopic thinking which is why you get such limited responses from him. He either accuses you of what he’s doing or he just makes shite up.

I did nothing but talk about the show man. Now you’re melting

I gave it a shot, mostly because people like yourself seemed to be enjoying it. I had to tap out after ep 5. I honestly only made it that far because people had hyped up the saber fight, which was ok, but it felt like doing work rather than being fun. Maybe I am just too old for iStar Wars, but my 15 year old son quit watching with me after ep 3.
I can appreciate that some liked it, but I honestly can’t wrap my head around how. I found myself just annoyed at what might have been.
ETA: I am not a MAGA guy at all I’m not sure where the idea that disliking this show equates to that comes from

It’s a Disney cultist trick, don’t think too much about it, just laugh at their desperation.

I am curious what people think is the best SW light saber fight all time.
Probably ROTJ's Luke vs Vader. Luke approaching the conflict with passive resistance only to fail when continually goaded by Vader, culminating in Luke placing all his faith on his father to do the right thing instead of trying to fight his way out of the fight, and succeeding, was peak Star Wars. Lucas was absolutely at the top of his storytelling.

. The actor said he, personally thinks of himself as a Han Solo type but his character Qimir is more like Jar Jar Binks lol.
He was the only intersesting character on the show, and the only one who could act.
It's not like Star Wars is full of great actors, or even great dialogue. It's the story telling and world buildling that has always made it special. The Acolyte thinks it understands that, and...
They have no idea how to tell a good Star Wars story b/c their too busy trying to tell some other story not related to Star Wars.

The fact that modern American politics are being discussed in a Star Wars topic is proof that Disney has completely destroyed the franchise

quote:I said it was the best of the season.
you liked episode 5 when you watched it and then spend the last 3 weeks talking yourself out of it.
And it was.
But I also said you can only enjoy it if you don't think. . .or pay attention to the choreography.
But, had they built on that episode they could have had something. Instead they just follow with 2 of the 3 worst Star Wars episodes of all time (6 and 7).
8 wasn't as bad, in a vacuum. But everyone does dumb shite for no reason. I mean nothing anyone does makes any sense. Motivations flip flop on a dime with no provocation. The wirework was laughably bad. Osha/Mae fight looked like high school talent show dance choreography.
Don't get me started on technical shite like:
-How was there power to hotwire the door?
-How did Sol's lightsaber break from a gentle toss?
-Why were the lightsabers sparking?
-It is impossible to accidentally or passively bleed a crystal, right?
-Can Qimir force-teleport?
-The mind wipe ability is too powerful for the Star Wars universe. give it a second thought, and you will understand why.
Oh, and did I mention the gay arse wirework bullshite?
8 wasn't the worst of the season
Best to worst:
-5
-2
-1
-8
-4
-6
-7
-3
------------------------------------------------------------------
all in all I'd give the show 4/10 as a generic space wizard show
1.5/10 as a Star Wars property

it's an obvious example of you hating on the show before it even came out also. Or did you forget what post you were replying to when you asked for a link?
I asked for a link, you shared a screenshot of a joke.
An obvious one.
I'd explain why it was obvious, but only Star Wars fans would understand it.

I think most people would acknowledge that this series had the potential to be really good, even better than Andor. If they wanted this series to really be about the Sith and their rise, then i can guarantee you Star Wars fans would absolutely love a good show about that. Leslye keeps hinting that that's what this show is really about, the Sith, she just has no idea how to do that.
There's a reason why Qimir is the only bright spot in this show, b/c if he really is a sith, then we all would really love to know who taught him, and where Plageuis fits into all of this, and eventually Palpatine. And hell, i don't care if Master Nepotism is an actual Sith (as it's obvious she trained Qimir). I actually think that would be really cool, if done well and leads to her death without anyone knowing her secret. Even with her terrible acting, a good story can trump bad acting usually.
I don't think there's a storyline you can pluck out of Star Wars that could be more interesting than that one, and what this show could be. Go hire competent writers and directors, go on with season 2, listen to your fans and make Osha/Mae minor characters that fizzle out and focus on the actual Sith and what they are doing in the shadows while the Jedi have no idea. That show would have rave reviews if done correctly.
Knowing Disney, they'll double down on the stupidity just to try to prove their majority of Star Wars fans that didn't like this crap wrong, and they'll bomb again.

She, the black mom chick (grr Patriarchy, Yes Yes Yes), and Amandla being Amandla doomed this show in many fans eyes before it even aired.
Disney needs to rein in it's talent, perhaps with NDA's, if it wants to have projects NOT surrounded by bullshite before they can even air. It is becoming a real problem for them.

I feel like we were all much better off with less access to the actors and writers opinions.

and that's what i'm talking about. They have no self awareness.
No where near Obi-Wan and Darth Maul, but still pretty good.
They tried way too hard for it though. The slow-mo was beyond stupid, and i still don't understand what was happening when Sol had his saber in front of Qimir's, and either of them could have chopped the other one in half. Instead they were force holding/pushing each others saber back at the other guy i guess. Still don't know what was going on wiht that part.
But it was a good fight between two guys you could tell put in the work to make a good light saber battle.

Nostalgia is powerful for sure.
Rogue One is a great movie though.
Qimir was trying to bring Sol's saber to the Cortosis helmet so it would short out.
