Could apply to many shows in current day, but wasn't one writer who had zero knowledge of the source material praised for his/her ignorance?

The only notably decent fights in "The Acolyte" were the 2 Sol v Qimir fights.
The 2nd was made a worse by the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dumbfrick wirework they threw in, that turns the whole scene into a cartoon.
Just soooo bad.
You also forgot the Kenobi v Grievous fight.

No shite, little wang was the only good thing in this series but of course he got girl boss cucked at the end because osha put on a helmet for 30 seconds. Another brilliant decision by Headband

I am curious what people think is the best SW light saber fight all time.
ESB Luke Vader is probably my fave, just because of all the story that goes along with it. I don’t believe anything will top the “I am your father” moment. Still I don’t think it is the “best” as far as fight choreography.
The Anakin Kenobi one form ROTS is impressive just in the actual skill involved; you could tell those 2 worked their asses off to make it look great. Still, it kinda drags on, and the tower falling in the lava was pretty meh. The high ground and don’t underestimate my power lines kind of take away from the end.
As disappointing a movie as TPM was, I still think the Maul dual at the end was epic. Great song to go along with it, first time seeing a dual bladed saber, first time with a 2 v 1 fight on screen, cool use of force powers. The pause with the laser shielding when Maul is prowling like a caged tiger and Qui Gonn goes into meditation mode is just great. I think it is the best. Wish the rest of the movie lived up to it.

Bingo, telling a story through combat is a lost art in filmmaking. When I say lost I mean it literally, these people cannot do it and wouldn’t even know where to begin. If you asked them what the psychology of any given battle in the acolyte was, headland would look at you as if you had 2 heads.

The EU had a lot of talented writers but none can be considered a primary source such as GRRM for ASOIAF, Frank Herbert for Dune, Tolkien for LOTR. It was a bunch of people writing their own things.

*TBH - I laughed at this guy for years, until I saw him in later works. it wasn't his fault, it was Geroge's. He can't direct worth a damn. With out Marcia Lucas, Star Wars is a far lesser quality.
