Jesus man. . .it's ok. Women are awesome. I grew up around several. Mother, Step-Mom, Foster Mom, 3 sisters. I even married a woman, and made one. Some women are shite. Most are not.

I mean, he’s right. This should never have been its own movie. Women aren’t going to rush out to see this type of character, the audience is male

If they didn't make this primarily for men/boys, it will fail.

And they were crazy accurate

They were not.

deadline esrly tracking article from 4/30

Lucasfilm/Disney’s first Star Wars movie in seven years, The Mandalorian and Grogu, arrived on tracking in what looks to be an $80 million-plus four-day start over the U.S. Memorial Day weekend.

The tracking services were roughly $20 million off.

I understand that I'll probably be disappointed, but I don't hate the Supergirl trailer and I love its source material. I will be seeing it.

It doesn’t help that she’s purposely tanking the movie herself with the interviews she’s giving.

This movie has such little buzz I don't think most people have noticed

That doesn't mean they're having internal issues. I think the movie will turn out fine. It'll be your standard run of the mill comic book film. No more, no less. And as I said before, I'm predicting Thunderbolts numbers

everything i read had the 3-day initially at 75, then 81.

On mid April-ish I posted an article projecting the 3-day between $70-85 million.

People were hesitant to project 4-day for some reason i am unaware.

Maybe, but Zegler seemed to do a good job on Snow White. I don’t know if that had more air time before release than this in regular media

After seeing the trailer twice, I'm not interested at all. The plot looks generic and boring and IMO superhero movies should have some female eye candy.
If I had an 8 hour flight, I'd probably rewatch something else over this.

Campea was talking about this because they had seen a like 10-15 minute screening at cinemacon (that they weren’t impressed by).

The word is she isn’t in the costume majority of the movie, just a “punk rock” outfit/t-shirt.

I’m guessing she doesn’t get the costume until her arc develops toward the end of the movie and stops being a drunk

How dare you.

But really a perfect example of this is WW vs WW84

In WW Gal was innocent, naive, and curious about male affection. In the end she had a longing for her lost love. It worked great with men and fit the character arc of her discovering her potential.

WW84 arrives and now shes a cynical girl boss that dont need no man. her long lost love shows up but now hes the fish out of water and aimless.

No thanks Im out.

Are you under the impression that Wonder Woman did terribly at the box office? The story this Supergirl film is based on is ten times better than the Wonder Woman plots.

Wonder Woman did pretty well. I think the bigger problem with Supergirl is that no one cares about the character and she was very unlikable in her superman appearance.

Also, Milly isn't exactly Gal Gadot. I don't think that's a sexist thing to say either. People want superheros to be a played by attractive people. If superman were played by Jesse Plemons it probably would have bombed too.

Granted, Toby McGuire is a bit of an outlier; but his character was made to be so awkward that he fit the bill

The casting is super poor. Freaking Laura van der Sloot was better than Millie Alcock.

you mean this isn't sounding like Brave New World to you?

All it is missing is the massive reshoots.

It could be fine, I hope it is, but it might also "movie by committee" mess
