Let me start by saying I am not aure if this is bad or not. I don't know what WB was hoping to get out of "Supergirl"

quote:

forecasts from Box Office Theory currently predict a domestic debut between $47M and $65M, putting it somewhere between “The Marvels” territory and “Black Adam,” which opened to $67 domestically

LINK

I must be out of the loop, because I was unaware it was having so many issues. 10 test screenings and multiple reworks? That seems unusually high, right?

quote:

Then there are the internal issues that have reportedly plagued the production. “Supergirl” has undergone at least ten test screenings — an unusually high number for a modern studio blockbuster — with DC Studios reportedly experimenting with three different endings, multiple edits, and expanded appearances from Superman. Furthermore, reactions to the film have been mixed, with Milly Alcock consistently earning praise for her performance, while criticism has focused on the action scenes and Matthias Schoenaerts’ villain, Krem.

Are superhero movies, outside of the big tent poles like Spiderman, finally on their way out?

Having to call in SuperMAN to save the day does not sound promising.

Sounds like the same issues I had with The Mandalorian: CGI action scenes that felt like animation with no stakes, and boring villains. These movies too often underestimate the importance of a good villain - getting an interesting star for these roles is crucial.

Tracking for Mandalorian was over a month out, too

And they were crazy accurate

I had no idea this was having so many issues

Women want to see hunky men in their movies. Men only want women if theyre getting nekkid. Women dont support other women, and girl power will never succeed.

Women are the only creatures who understand other women, and that's why they hate each other.

I don't believe this movie will be big. I think it'll do Thunderbolts numbers, but all these rumors that it's had so many issues should be taken with a grain of salt. It's probably all nonsense

Jesus man. . .it's ok.

Women are awesome. I grew up around several. Mother, Step-Mom, Foster Mom, 3 sisters.

I even married a woman, and made one.

Some women are shite. Most are not.

I input "supergirl test screenings" in Google AI

quote:

The Supergirl test screenings have yielded notably mixed reactions, with audiences praising Milly Alcock’s lead performance and Jason Momoa’s brief appearance as Lobo, but criticizing the action scenes and the villain. The studio has reportedly held over eight test screenings, trying three different endings and adjusting pacing. The high number of test screenings has raised eyebrows among industry analysts, as major blockbusters typically require fewer.

Specific details from these early cuts reveal a varied and evolving production process:

The Highlights: Milly Alcock has been a consistent bright spot, and test audiences have responded very well to Jason Momoa's cameo as Lobo. Some scenes have been compared favorably to gritty, "space western" action.

The Criticisms: Early feedback has pointed to pacing issues and a lackluster main villain.

The Edits: With so many screenings, the film continues to change rapidly. The studio has tried multiple endings and cuts, with recent versions featuring additional scenes with Clark Kent/Superman.

This movie had bomb written all over it from the beginning. It will be competing with Mandolorian for biggest flop of the summer.

I sure hope so although I understand that I am not the target demographic for movie makers despite having disposable income.

Devil Wears Prada 2 made 600M on a 100M budget but yet they want to force feed women what they don't want. There are only so many fedora wearing neck beard beta males and they seem to be tiring of this crap too.

I mean.....his statement that women are the only creatures that understand women is pretty much spot on.

It doesn’t help that she’s purposely tanking the movie herself with the interviews she’s giving.

I could see it making around $50 million opening weekend

Making superhero movies for girls is a terrible move, and doomed to failure

Wonder Woman was made for men, and it crushed.

Women, by and large, don't gaf about superheroes.
