My kids have no interest in Star Wars. By comparison they were stoked to see anything with Iron Man in it and they love Spider-Man. They also like HP and The fantastic beast movies. My kids will grow up nostalgic about Marvel and the Harry Potter universe.
Disney had a chance and failed to capture what made Star Wars so popular. It will die off with those of us who saw the OT on VHS.

I still think they'll turn it around. Star wars has far too much potential for it to die off. They just need to stop taking audiences for granted.

Yeah, i didn't like TLJ as a SW movie, had nothing to do with anything political. If you cant ignore politics in movies then just stop watching movies, you will be happier and the ones that can ignore it don't have to hear about it.

This movie should be boycotted on principle. frick this studio and frick Kathleen Kennedy. I don't care if the reviews are that it's better than Citizen Kane. I refuse to give another penny to Kathleen Kennedy and her dumpster fire of a studio.

Hamill was returning as Luke. I had not been that excited to see a movie since I was a kid. Everyone who is a fan of Star Wars was over the moon excited to see Hamill return.
TFA was a safe and successful soft reboot that brought everyone back to the franchise. TLJ was supposed to build on it and branch out and it had the promise of Luke guiding the new characters.
Luke throwing his lightsaber over his shoulder threw the entire franchise in a coffin. The rest of the movie nailed it shut.
