Pretty fricking dark.

I tend to think Mike and Rich from Red Letter Media kidnapped the showrunner and beat him with a sock full of frozen pizzarolls until he wrote a real Star Trek series. If you are not familiar with them, look up their Trek reviews on You Tube. Mike is an absolute fan boy that has seen his soul crushed having to review the shitsandwich that is Discovery and Picard. They have often talked about the tone being so completely wrong that they are not even Star Trek shows.

Specifically, they make fun of Discovery because every single problem is solved by Burnham. It is refreshing to see Pike conference with his senior officers and make decisions based on their recommendations and not just wait for a Mary Sue to technobabble the miracle fix to every problem.

If you saw season 3 of Torchwood (UK), there was a creepy resemblance to that episode...

Another good episode. They keep delivering. I can't tell how how grateful I am for this show to finally get back to what Star Trek is supposed to be.

Episode 7 Dropped...Another solid episode.

We were introduced to backstory's to a few characters and some we haven't heard about in a long time.

I'll hold off on spoilers until more people chime in.

What does God need with a starship?

So happy they made a Star Trek show with Star Trek fans in mind

Yep, yet another great episode. Well written, acted and directed. They are introducing plotlines for things to come, some of which will be very interesting (no spoilers). I really like this series.

If Discovery or Picard had hinted about bringing in these plotlines/characters from series/films of the past, I'd roll my eyes. But, when this series does it, I can't wait to see how they pull it off.

I haven't seen it yet (because no show until now had given me the slightest inclination to get Paramount), but you guys have got me convinced I need to get that sub and watch this.

3 episodes left in S1.

At this point, you only need to pay for one month of Paramount+ to watch the whole season.

And if you feel that you haven't gotten your money's worth, binge every episode of Wings until you're content.

Ep 7 had its moments but I didn’t think it was great. Too much like a soap opera.

That is what I just did. I wasn't overly interested in P+ but between my curiosity about this show and them having Star Trek TOS and the Twilight Zone I finally pulled the trigger on it.

Holy cow, for the first 90+% of this latest episode I was like WTF is this but the ending had me on the verge of tears. That was pretty powerful

Surprised how they wrap-up subplots that you'd assume would be ongoing for the series, if not the season. They sort of came to terms with Pike's impending doom, and now another side story is pretty much wrapped up. I'm not complaining, I didn't want the entire season/series to run with a Sword of Damocles or two hanging over them.

I just finished episode 7. Didn’t know a trans played Angel. Never been a Star Trek fan but I have enjoyed this series so far.
