Well the last two movies I have seen were the new Escape Room and the new Space Jam. This is not a good streak I am forming.

Watched it on HBO, it was basically exactly the movie I was expecting. Here’s my review with spoilers

Lebron is a bad actor but no worse and actually maybe better than MJ, the jokes were hit and miss but I was surprised they actually had some jokes at Lebron expense in there about him changing teams and about how he’s not better than MJ. Lots of throw black to the previous movie, I was hoping some of the Tune Squad would just outright say they had already done basically this with MJ instead of just make comments hinting at it. The plot with the video game stuff was lame, the Monstars were way cooler, I was surprised that the other athletes (AD, Dame, Taurasi, etc), were barely in the movie as people at all. The best part of the movie was actually the WB greatest hits montage going around to the different worlds, Tweety and grandma in the Matrix and Lola as an Amazon were great. Animation was fine, the idea of them playing his sons game was smart but his son playing on the other team was dumb, he took what 3 seconds to try and explain to his son that he was playing for a team that was trying to murder the Looney Tunes and trap a bunch of people forever before giving up on convincing him? Michael B Jordan cameo was funny, I guessed it because I knew MJ was want in the movie but still funny. Overall yes it’s a bad movie, I’m sure a bunch of 8 yr old Lebron fans enjoyed it, it didn’t take anything away from the original at least since it’s a totally different type of threat so for that I’m grateful. Basically it’s exactly the movie you would expect it to be, cheesy, bad acting, predictable

I dont know which part was more unbelievableTaurasi and Nneka Ogwumike dunking or Lebron winning with a team that did not include handpicked superstars. Lebron getting sucked into a digital realm and having to play for the fate of his son seemed like an actually possible event compared to those.

The Lebron suck off intro sucks but the movie has some fun stuff. Sure the plot sucks, but the gags are classic. I wouldn't watch it again, but I would watch it again for the first time.

I don’t think this is really a fair critique. If you’re calling this a Lebron suck off intro then you have to say the original Space Jam intro was an MJ suck off right?

I got HBO MAX and my kids wanted to watch it.

There were a few funny lines from the Tunes and Don Cheadle. The Michael Jordan part was funny. The “B” Jordan, not the “A.”

LeBron acted at about the same quality as Jordan in the original. I just think LeBron is a bitch, so it knocks the movie down a few pegs. My kids had a good time watching it and I think that’s the point of a movie with Looney Tunes. Anyone who’s doing deep dive criticisms of a movie like this has problems and are only doing it out of hatred for LeBron.

I laughed the most at this movie during the Matrix sequence, as well as Lebron being the Robin to Buggs, and Superman kicking the looney tunes out of Metropolis.

The Michael Jordan joke was funny as well, even though i knew it was coming the moment he said his name. (I remember making the joke on here that Michael Jordan was playing in the all-star game a few years back, when it was Michael B.

I would have really liked to have seen the other NBA players have a bigger role. My favorite part of the original usually had to do with Chuck, Muggsy and the other guys.

I was really hoping Barkley would have been next to Ernie at the desk when they first showed him.

Not that MJ was oscar worthy, but this is so far from being true. Bron was absolutely terrible! I understand acting in front of green screens, but it came off like Bron was just by himself in the middle of a studio with nobody to interact with. Cover someone up with that green screen body suit and actually have interaction so it looks normal. I'd try to give him that benefit of the doubt, but hell even his acting with the kid was awful.

Go watch the original Space Jam again

MJ just talks through the entire movie. Thats it, it is a guy simply reading lines

MJ is indeed a terrible actor, but unlike Lebron, he has some undeniable charm.

A nostalgia take. MJ is God-awful and has none of the charisma or charm we saw him have in real-life. Lebron is God-awful, but actually improves a bit after the first 20 minutes. The first 20 minutes, before Lebron is sucked into the serververse could contend for the worst stretch of big studio movie I've ever seen. Everything is bad, but it's like Lebron can't figure out facial expressions when looking at and talking to his family.

MJ just robotically said everything the whole time, with a couple smiles to the camera throughout.

Saw it with my son yesterday. The first half of the film was terrible. I noticed a lot of the kids in the theater had lost interest by the mid-way point. It didn't actually get decent until the actual "game" segment. I did notice that LJ's acting got better as the movie progressed. I also noticed a lot of references to things that adults would know, but kids would not. My favorite part of the whole thing was looking in the background during the game to see all the various characters: The Flintstones & Dino, Jetsons & Rosie, Pennywise, Joker, War Boys, Penguin, etc.

MJ is still selling underwear last I checked. Save for that weird time when he grew the Hitler mustache, he’s always been pretty decent salesman.

I watched it. It was a really big commercial of Warner Brothers movies.

I will never understand putting the Droogs from A Clockwork Orange in a family movie.

Reviews are coming out about how it’s bad. I just watched it, and I had a blast. But I’m not expecting this to be a masterpiece, I like basketball, I liked the Looney Tunes growing up, and I like LeBron James. It was fun.

There are some fun parts, like LeBron trying to recruit a team, compared to the team that he ended up with. Also there’s a really funny joke that happens at halftime of the game that I legit popped for because it was very clever

It’s worth watching if you have HBO max. The two hour run time doesn’t even really feel like two hours

Well, good for you for finding something you enjoyed... but man, the trailers looked BAD and they put the best parts in the trailers. I wasn't about to spend any time or money on that movie.
