But I’m not expecting this to be a masterpiece, I don't really care for basketball anymore, I liked the Looney Tunes growing up, and I hate LeBron James. It would be like the Ludovico Technique in A Clockwork Orange for me to watch it. .

Welcome to the new TD

Doesn’t help that people can’t keep personal shite they have for someone away from a film critique. I don’t like Lebron but all this thread is is bashing him and his political views on China.

And it’s usually the same posters who flame and destroy every thread for the most part

F*ck LeBron. I wouldn't let my son watch this Chinese garbage. We bought the old one with MJ and watched it at home instead.

It really is fun watching both sides melt equally while saying only the other side is melting.

They could have did so much better on the movie. It had some funny parts, but overall it just was not a good or memorable movie.

They did way too much with trying to make the movie modern. All the video game aspects like a wannabe Ready Player One just did not work. They would have been better off playing this off as a true sequel where the original villain dude came back for revenge. Last, I can't believe that they didn't play the Space Jam song. Such a huge miss, that was a big part of the first movie.

Once again, Lebron continues to live in Jordan's shadow.

the soundtrack for the first one was so damn memorable.

I believe I can Fly
Space Jam
Fly like an Eagle
Hit em High
Basketball Jones

this one had like 5 seconds of Ghetto Superstar, a few seconds of Pump Up the Jam...and I honestly don't remember anything else.

THe original had earworms that I still remember to this day yet this one I can only think of bits of songs from a movie I watched last night

I tried putting this on for my three year old and I have two complaints.
1. They waited too long to show any WB characters. By the time they did show them my son had lost interest.
2. Lebron is a terrible actor. I mean, he is really bad.

I tried to watch with my 3 year old as well, he had zero interest, so I just kept it on while he watched YouTube on his tablet. It was pretty terrible.

Well of course you’re gonna easily remember songs from a movie from your childhood as opposed to songs in a movie you probably only watched once.

Lebron is one of the best athletes of all time. He’s also one of the worst actors of all time.

thought it was decent

It was meh at best felt more like an advertisement for HBO Max then a Space Jame movie. Lebron sucked at acting but so did MJ.

*disclosure * I have HBO max, there is no way I would bring my son to the theater for this movie.

It's a kids movie, for sure. Just listening to LeBron read his lines was painful. The movie also skipped so much good stuff, like how the team prepared and how they chose the players. The movie wasn't near as sjw but it didn't have a single part that caused me to laugh. I can see why this movie is rated so badly. My 5 year old thought it was alright, I thought it was bad. Seriously, LeBron's lack of acting and not being able to read in the correct tone was cringe at times.

The best part was trying to pick out the random characters in the audience.

I remember my dad telling me how shitty MJ was at acting and how bad space jam was as a movie

I feel it a privilege to tell my kids the same thing about this one. The passing of the old man torch

I loved the new space jam. It didn’t try to be the original. It had so many social media and Warner references. Even poked fun at the original and Lebrons own legacy. Lebron does what he does and is the strong black father figure that he is.

I don’t what the haters on TD say. That was a good movie.

Watched the original on a SW flight recently.

Not going to lie, Space Jam soundtrack and Jordan intro gave me effing chills. The rest of the movie sucks but at least Larry and Bill Murray have some funny cameo stuff.

No chance I'm ruining that with this garbage. I know exactly how its going to be.

40 year old LeBron doing his 16 year old authentic self impression.

Cannot believe Don Cheadle took this on. Booooo
