I love this show and hope it goes as long as the quality remains high. One thing they have to avoid is a 3 year gap between seasons. That was brutal and would have absolutely killed a lesser show.

I think the writers strike is what took it to 3 years, right? I think it was originally supposed to be 2. Preferably it releases 18 months apart max. If they could keep it annual in the winter that would be great.
This show is perfect for winter viewing. I honestly hope the setting of snowy winter never changes. Somehow just really elevates the show.

I couldn’t agree more. The winter setting is perfect for this show.

Absolutely. It’s not the fun Christmas snow. It’s that mid-winter cold as frick with boring snow/ice.

Milchick might be the best TV character since Cosmo Kramer.

What time does the episode drop? I feel like I've seen it released early Thursday night.
I am yearning for more

Is Microdata refinement 'fake work' in a sense that it gives them something to do while they are on the premise for observation or some other purpose?
Getting a sense that the whole bunch are just monkeys in a cage and their real purpose at Lumon is simply to be test subjects for severed people, and seeing how they respond to different situations.

I mean...I definitely don't think matching numbers and shredding papers are Lumon's core competencies

Started out thinking that the nature of their work with the numbers was in furtherance of training something whether it be AI or some form of consciousness to be more human. But now it might be them the ones being trained.

Lumon middle management has to be the worse job ever. MONTHLY performance reviews for 2-6 hours! I was legit feeling sorry for old Milkshake. When dude slid the menu across the table, I laughed and cringed for Milkshake at the same time.
Over all felt this ep had some really solid moments:
Helena balking at going back; was she screwing Mark on company orders just to keep him happy to finish Cold Harbor?
The melon Irv
The quick “hang in there” payoff
Ms Huang questioning Milchik
The performance review
BUT the whole dragging the plot simply by having characters not communicate is a little tired. I get Mark’s distrust, but at least let the audience know what innie Mark knows/remembers, especially after the doc’s hint that the innie might be integrating faster.
Lingering questions I am looking forward to being revealed:
Who was the guy in the opening scene picking up the dental/surgical tools? Anyone else think that those doors looked like more doors where they keep bodies before they opened them?
Any good theories on who Irv is talking to on the payphone?
How does he know about the dark hallway he has painted?
Surely Lumon knows that it was Grainer’s keycard that the 4 used to activate the OTC to end S1. Why no follow up on that?

As for this weeks episode, I had the feeling that I said in this thread a while back that the show runners aren’t slow rolling the reveals of the show and Helena will be outed as being an outie on the severed floor, but will then be back on the severed floor as Helly.
They’ve done all of that and Mark’s reintegration and more all at the halfway point of the season. So many shows would have those things happen e8, e9, e10 as season culminations.

Have you ever heard the story of the Gråkappan?
A calmer episode compared to last week to mark the halfway point of the season.
Any guesses on the identity of the Exports Hall guy with the cart or the contents of Mark’s breakfast shots?
Is Drummond an Eagen as well? He also referred to the elder Eagan as Father.
Milchick is delivering on another level this season. The race for supporting actor between him and Turturro will be tight.
Miss Huang stabbing Milchick in the back for that performance review. Should have let her play that encore on the theremin. The theremin works best in moderation? Nonsense.
Loved Irv’s funeral and freakishly realistic melon sculpture. Good call to the poster that remembered the Hang in There picture.
Milchick’s scene with Natalie and the performance review were my favorite part of this episode. His job is on thin ice and I’ll be upset if he gets fired.
One: Uses too many big words.
Not enough Ricken this episode. He made the Trojan’s Horse reference, but I’m wondering if there is any significance to him calling it Trojan’s Horse instead of Trojan Horse since it is also the name of the episode.
Assuming Irv is speaking with the woman that Reintegrated Mark.

The work is mysterious and important.

Did y’all think that it was outtie mark as an innie for most of this episode? He wasn’t acting like his innie self until just before he went to the elevator to leave.
