No, not at all. Other than RDJ, most of the MCU was relatively unknown at the time they were cast.

The version from the Agents of Shield show was pretty good.

Ruffalo was a relative unknown.

Scarlett Johannsson had only been seen in a few movies - Lost in Translation (2003)

Chris Evans? Still not a big star despite playing Captain America.

Chadwick Boseman? (RIP)

I guess Brie Larson was 'known', having been a actor since she was a kid, but nothing like what we know about her today.

Point being, Ryan Gosling is far more well known today than most of those in the MCU were 15-18 yrs ago.

you’re correct about him being the biggest actor but the people you listed and pretending they weren’t well known before mcu is just flat out false.

First of all I said relatively. Obviously it varies with actor, and Robert Downey Jr. was very well known. Even if casting him was a bit of a gamble, due to his past. Safe to say it’s paid off for all.

Do I think Gosling is a good fit ? Actually yes. Hopefully. Assuming the writers know what they are supposed to do.

He just starred in the biggest non-franchise blockbuster in years.

Reading his post, I believe he means Star Wars and MCU are desperate for wins, not Gosling. Gosling is about as big as it gets right now for an actor.

I think Gosling is a fantastic choice for Ghost Rider. He's a great actor, can do many genres, has charisma and star power. Ghost Rider is a cool character, too, I liked Cage in the role.

I don't know if anyone agrees with me, but I think The Fall Guy is super underrated. One of the few '80s nostalgia movies they didn't turn into something stupid.

Lmao ?

You think her stock was as high as it was after Ironman 2 as it was before?

Yes, she caught MY attention before but don't tell me she was every bit as big a star after Ironman 2 as she was before.

Sigh

Still not current day Ryan Gosling level known.

* And as a dude, I’m not going to apologize for not having romcom Mark Ruffalo knowledge before he was Hulk.

FFS.
