Honestly think Gosling would make a great Johnny Blaze. I really like Ghost Rider as a character.

I don't mind Supergirl as a character overall, but he also chose what might be the least interesting storyline involving the character. He went out of his way to pick a character that most comic book fans already don't care about and then picked a storyline that most comic book fans wouldn't connect with that character or even have known about before this movie was released.
I agree that all of your suggestions would have been better options.

Agreed. This is the DC "Trinity." They should be the basis of any world building surrounding DC Comics movies imo.

I think recency is why these were skipped. Nightwing with the Titans TV show, Green Arrow with the Arrowverse, Flash with Arrowverse AND the Snyderverse (The Flash movie sort of served as a "reset" into the James Gunn universe), Aquaman with the Snyderverse (released after Flash).
Hopefully the Lanterns TV show will be good.
