So they're including the year 2000 and left off Oh Bother, Where Art Thou?

And included 'Hail, Caesar!' and 'A Serious Man'. Both of those movies blew whale dong.

10. 'State and Main' (2000)
9. 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' (2005)
8. 'Shaun of the Dead' (2004)
7. 'Toni Erdmann' (2016)
6. 'Punch Drunk Love'
5. 'Idiocracy' (2006)
4. 'Step Brothers' (2008)
3. 'Bridesmaids' (2011)
2. 'In The Loop' (2009)
1. 'Best in Show' (2000)

My choices missing from this list:
The Hangover
Anchorman
Superbad
Old School
Napoleon Dynamite
DodgeBall
O Brother Where Art Thou (though, since it was 2000...that was technically the end of the 20th century)
Hot Fuzz

Yeah... when the geniuses making the list of best comedies of the 21st century don't know when the first year of the 21st century is... I'm going to have to disregard the list out of hand.

I would have Gran Torino over this.

Some of Eastwood's lines are classic.

not that anyone cares, but my top 50 would be the list below. I used wikipedia to easily have a list of comedies by year to work off of, so it's quite possible that I skimmed past certain movies. I left out animated movies and movies that I considered to be more drama than comedy. For instance, wikipedia categorizes The Descendents as a comedy. WTF? This list is mostly in chronological order, and I haven't really seen anything considered a comedy other than Deadpool 2 this year, so 2018 is underrepresented.

American Pie 2
Not Another Teen Movie
Rat Race
Super Troopers
Jackass (will just include this one…all were great in my opinion)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Elf
Old School
School of Rock
Along Came Polly
Anchorman
DodgeBall
Eurotrip
Harold and Kumar go to White Castle
Shaun of the Dead
Sideways
40 Year Old Virgin
The Ringer
Waiting
Wedding Crashers
Accepted
Beerfest
Borat
Grandma's Boy
Idiocracy
Talladega Nights
Hot Fuzz
Superbad
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Four Christmases
Role Models
Step Brothers
Tropic Thunder
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
The Hangover
I Love you Man
Hot Tub Time Machine
The Other Guys
Crazy Stupid Love
Hall Pass
Horrible Bosses
21 Jump Street
The Campaign
Project X
This is the end
We're the millers
The world's end
Neighbors
Deadpool
Deadpool 2

I can't tell if you are mocking my list or in agreement that not having these in the top 50 is absurd

Without even reading further I bet this list is horrible

Rolling Stone put Norm as like the 5th worst SNL cast member of all time. These people wouldn’t know comedy if it kicked them in the balls and then farted in their face.

Bridesmaids is funny but way too fricking high.

The Hangover did it first. And better. But females and shite. Suprised the abomination of a ghostbusters remakes isn’t there.

Like everyone has said, no Old School, Wedding Crashers or Forgetting Sarah Marshall is grounds for termination for whoever was in charge of this list

Airplane! is literally better than every movie in their top 10, as is Quest for the Holy Grail, Caddyshack, Animal House, Blazing Saddles, and Spaceballs. It's like they didn't start watching movies until the year 2000.

This is a troll, right?

No MacGruber, list is invalid.

Honestly, though, about what I would expect from Rolling Stone.
