Yes you’re definitely in the minority.

Sauron didn’t have to do anything do be evil.

He wanted to be just a dude. Galadriel dragged him into doing literally everything that ended up being bad. He even offered to give up his evilness if she’d bang him and be his girl. She refuses.

Sauron’s descent into evil is because Galadriel rejected him and now he’s an incel. Seriously, that’s where this disaster of a show took things. It went there.

What a joke and an embarrassment

Sauron is lying to her. Yeah he wanted to turn her into a Queen, and by that he meant Witch Queen. This was in Sauron’s master plan and a Witch Queen Galadriel would have been way more powerful than the Witch King.

I understand that but it is an utter joke. An entire storyline derived from Galadriel yelling at Frodo in the fellowship of the ring. A billion dollar show to explain why she was mean that one time, because Sauron tried to seduce her. fricking bullshite

No, that’s not why Galadriel did that. She had to pass the test to refuse the One Ring to pass back into the West. And without her, the Fellowship would have been fricked.

I'm guessing that now the Numenoreans will return to Middle Earth in force and bring Sauron back with them.

I’m guessing that’s Season 3.

Honestly to me, this may be the worst moment of season 1. Celebrimbor looked liked a moron.

It seems they botched everything about. Celebrimbor is an idiot who looks like Liberace. It’s unforgivable given Celebrimbor is the most important elf of the Second Age.

I've seen rumors that they may explain in future episodes that this was not Sauron's first time speaking with Celebrimbor or being at that location. The guy is a master manipulator and shape shifter so maybe this isn't the first attempt?

But he’s still one of the Top 4 smiths in all of Lord of the Rings. He was directly likely taught by his grandfather Fëanor. These would be the Top 5 smiths and in order in the mythos:

1) Aulë
2) Fëanor
3) Sauron
4) Celebrimbor
5) Mahtan

i don't think it's her acting that's the issue

It has always been the writing for me of her character. The writers made her arc unlikable by many. She just did her part and carried out what they told her to do.

Did you end up watching? These threads have been much better since CP3 isn't posting, I'm assuming he got a ban/timeout.

I’ve seen clips, but no, didn’t watch the show itself.

As good as the dwarves are, I think all five are better smiths than any dwarf.

Yeah, the constant attacking of posters got old quick.

The majority of people watching this aren't 'woke', there's a lot of Tolkien fans who wanted to see ANYTHING more from his works. I would have preferred we get a more true adaptation, but let's be honest here- it could have been fantastic, and it still wouldn't be what you imagined.

I DID enjoy the shout-outs to the deeper lore, when they did it. Let's see, we heard talk of:
The One (Eru Illuvatar)
Morgoth
Aule (by name)
Yavanna (by her powers and interest)
Manwe (by name)

We got peeks at Valinor, Finrod Felagund, the War of Wrath. As clumsy as it might have been scripted, we got a chance to see Elves sailing West and crossing the Shadowy Seas.
We got Elrond tell Durin "well my dad saved the world and became a star , but I still wish I could talk to him one more time".
We may well have gotten a brief look into Utumno's ruins. I wish Galadriel's crew had found a throne room, before they bugged out. Something tells me that if it still existed, even at that late age, a troll would be the least of their worries.

Halbrand/Sauron, for all the letdown on the reveal, let us get a look at the Maia beneath the dark helmet.

Adar was one of the few new additions that was a bright spot, it gave us a glimpse into how the orcs came to be, and what an utter tragedy that was.

I loved their take on the orcs, and also their take on the Dwarves of Khazad Dum. Including the princess, but especially both Durins. They are exactly correct in appearance and demeanor, for what I imagined the Dwarves to be. Unlovely, but stout.

And as clumsy as the Stranger was done, I'm glad he got to flex on some of Sauron's servants. We need to see what an Istari (a Maia) can do, even if it didn't quite fit the story. *He better be a Blue Wizard, though.

There are many things they got right, as well as the things they fumbled. If they can clean things up going into next season, the show still has the potential to be amazing. As it was, it was good but uneven, and barely scratched that potential.

The “Stranger” is likely one of the Blue Wizards (Istar) that remained in the East.

His “always follow your nose” comment to Elanor is the exact same thing Gandalf said to Merry. Maybe the writers are trying to mislead, but have to think he’s Gandalf.

While we don’t know much about the Blue Wizards, it’s a decently safe assumption they’re not associated with fire. Gandalf is as associated with the element as much as Sauron is. The Stranger is Gandalf.

I dont know what it is about this show. I think the lotr films are a masterpiece and I love them. This show is pretty far off base and has a ton of flaws but I find myself wanting to watch it every week.
I assume isidors (sp) dad marrys the queen making him king and how the ring comes to isidor. I wish they would portray galadriels character more like it was in the book. The strong woman stuff is getting lame, they need to make her less one dimensional.

Isildur cuts off the Ring from Sauron’s hand personally. It’s in the first four minutes of the film for God’s sake.

These pictures certainly soften her look compared to the show. She's girl next door attractive.

The writing for her character and her portrayal (ie her acting) are both atrocious.

This role is too big for her and her writers did her no favors with the nonsense she spews. She is the worst part about the show that includes a lot of awful, irredemable parts.

Isidor, SON OF THE KING, cuts the hand of Sauron.

I know, details and shite.
