Best episode by far. I told myself at the start of the episode that if the Stranger really was Sauron I’d stop watching. That would’ve been way too far from the source material to me.
As soon as Halbrand started giving suggestions to Celebrimbor, I knew.
Some questions….
Why was Sauron just chilling on a raft?
What does Elrond know, other than Halbrand is not who he says he is?
Will Sauron look like Halbrand for the rest of the series? Or will he assume other forms for deceptions?
Is the Stranger Gandalf? I was really hoping he was a blue wizard but the “Always follow your nose” line threw me off. Didn’t some Tolkien works have the Blues getting there early?

I’ll give the season 7/10.
Writing was poor to start and got better near the end. Still could be better.
I think the only change the writers made that really bothered me was saying that mithril came from the Silmarils. Just silly.
Dialogue was really bad in some spots. Need to patch that up next season.
Music and cinematography was incredible as expected.

I think they played around too much, trying to A) make it a mystery to those who know the lore, and B) make it fit 'cleaner' to just the movies. Which it feels like they did- toss in things the casual movie fan will deduce, based on what they saw in those films.
I think there's a lot of good instances, but the show needs at the very least, a more polished hand running things. I think the actors did a good job with what they had. I also think they really needed a better script to work with.

I wondered this as well. I think it would be intriguing to bring on different actors to fill the role as he continues to change his appearance but that’s risky

Because the writing in this show is terrible.
Why did Galadriel jump off of a boat in the middle of the ocean? Was her plan to swim all the way to middle earth? It made for a dramatic shot so frick it I guess...

The way they set it up, I'm not sure she had any choice if her goal was to get back to Middle Earth.
