One of the girls, who had a goth theme going on, signed the shirt "True Love Always, Shelly Webster"
She said "You probably don't even know who Shelly Webster is."
As drunk as I was, I looked her dead in the eye and said "Mother is the word for God on the lips and hearts of all children."
She basically melted on the spot. I'm pretty sure I could have taken her home that night.

if Brandon Lee would have lived, he would have had multiple oscars by now.
I'm serious.
That dude was a talent.

One of the more overrated movies of its time. This movie would be completely forgotten if not for Brandon Lee dying and the soundtrack, which is also overrated. Brandon Lee's performance was decent though.
Always an edgelord.
It was an interesting time and that movie kind of summed up a lot of the fashion, music and overall sadistic-edged gothic theatrics of the early to mid 90s before everything became overwhelmed with whiners and ballers. It combined a solid action movie, a rock music soundtrack of the sort that would never be seen again, top notch performances by lesser knowns and a lead who had star charisma. It was interesting and it's always stuck in my memory as a particularly vivid moviegoing experience.

Still holds up. Great cast and great soundtrack as well. Micheal Wincott is a greatly underrated actor and villain.

Fire it up! Fire it up! Fire it up!
I always say “it can’t rain all the time” and my family thinks I’m nuts.
The Crow is pretty great. It’s a little dark for my taste generally, but it just works. Maybe that’s due to Lee or the tight story, who knows. But it works well. One of the better revenge flicks of that era for sure. And it still holds up really well.
ETA: and that stripper story is awesome. I’d have definitely hit her with a “can’t rain all the time” reference in that situation.

Same, I caught it on TV about a year ago, hadn’t seen it in almost 20 years and I was surprised at how well it held up. The sets were great, the CGI held up because of the dim lighting except for when Funboy shoots him through the hand. The writing is solid, action scenes and stunts are very good and the cast was incredible. Are there any bad characters or performances? Lee was very good, Wincott was brilliant, Bai Ling was perfect in her role, Todd was imposing, Earnie Hudson was great, David Patrick Kelly and the rest of his crew were very good, one of Masons first movies and he was great. Anna Thompson and Jon Polito were also very good. Really there isn’t any faults in the movie. Sure the concept and genre might not be for everyone but the Film itself is top notch.

Graduated high school the year this came out. Perfect movie for a teenager. Still enjoy it

I also love the gritty street subculture feel of it.

One of my all-time favorite movies. It also has one of the best all-time soundtracks.

Watched it again recently and it definitely holds up well. One of the odd movies for me, like The Professional, that I didn't like the first time watching but that I've developed an intense respect for with every additional viewing.

I don't know why but the scene where the heroin gets pushed out of that girls arm still freaks me the frick out.

This thread made me watch this movie again. Still a good watch.
Noticed online that the Crow has a new installment coming out this year.

Alright this thread got me, I guess I’ll watch it again. The only thing I remember about seeing it in the theater was laughing out loud at the last line. Something about love never dies?

I’ve always wanted to watch it but just can’t bring myself to do it.

I get that some movies are “of a time” and aimed at a specific demographic. I was 14 when this came out. In the 90s I probably watched it 50 times. Hadn’t seen it in 20 years and watched with my son. It holds up. Really cool look and feel.

Would like to see the stock prices of Hot Topic and Spencer’s Gifts before and after the release of this movie.

I was the exact demographic this movie was made for. It's all style and very little substance. Brandon Lee has a lot of charm but isn't a good actor. He's like a male Gal Had it in that regard.
If you want a movie with that dark, goth vibe plus an actual good story from that era, watch Dark City from the same director. If you want a good soundtrack with a similar feel, listen to Lost Highway.
