The first real cliff hanger of the show. This could be where the season really takes off
You know, I was thinking that the mass exodus out of Albuquerque was where it was going to take off. Carol realizing how quickly the world would go feral if she was truly alone.

But yeah, that was a full blown Adam West and Burt Ward plunging into a vat of Joker Juice cliff hanger.

The drones were predictable but hilarious.

Yea I can't imagine they are actually sending Carol's packages out. Unless it's a thing where "If we don't send these out she's going to be furious and a bunch more are going to die." But even then, they wouldn't have a ton of incentive imo to send stuff out to the 13 to let her actively work against them.

And finally another character similar to Carol that isn't just immediately trusting and accepting what is going on. I know I'd either be the guy that is banging as many girls as possible or the guy locking himself in eating dog food. No middle ground. The way all the other 11 are just totally fine with everything is annoying.

Why doesn't everybody start convulsing when the Indian lady gets angry? Every scene she's in she's screaming at Carol.

As soon as Carol walked into that room at the end I told my wife "There's going to be bodies in there." Can't wait to see what it is.

Same here, it was hilarious as it struggled being over weight.

Have we seen people’s dogs and cats? It seems like unless they have done something to them that wolves and some big cats from the zoos would not have picked them all off in 8 days without seeing the wolves much more often than just this past episode (big cats from zoo as well). Just letting all dogs and cats loose we would be still be seeing some wondering around. Where are the zoo animals as well?

The virus did something to the rat, so at its beginning it could infect more than humans. Could it be more deadly to animals? Or are they serving some other function for the hive?

Is it too soon for whatever Carol saw to be humans? Could it be the pets or zoo animals?

Great episode. I love the slow burn of Vince’s shows. I do wish the full season was available though. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to wait for the next piece of the story to come out.

It’s obviously people under the tarp. But that might be too on the nose. Maybe they’re growing alien bodies? And feeding them dog food?

Speaking of, we’ve gotten multiple instances of dog food in the show.

I'm with you on that. Based on his history, Gilligan isn't going to try to stretch this out longer than it needs to be. Despite not too much happening after the first two episodes, the show has kept me captivated.

It seems like a lot of people are souring on the show. If this were on Netflix, I'd be worried about falling viewership being a problem. With it being on Apple, I suspect that they'll let Gilligan wrap things up no matter what the viewership looks like, but they may force him to cut it down to 3 seasons instead of the expected 4.

Also, after the first 2 episodes, I hypothesized that animals might be part of the hive. This episode definitely shot that one down.

I’m not sure. I noticed when she first looked under the tarp, there was no instant reaction like she saw bodies. It was like it took her a minute to realize what she was looking at. Who knows what that is. Maybe it was body parts or something.

I had wondered if it was too soon for it to be humans and be really meaningful towards Carol proving bad intentions behind the hive and virus. If human bodies (or maybe animals killed by the virus) it may eventually mean more about what is actually happening as more is independently discovered over the series, but I have a feeling it’s going to be more shock initially and then have it partially explained away as part of their efficiency of resources and not killing.

They took the bodies of those who died with the joining and with Carol’s outbursts somewhere, and besides Carol’s girlfriend or wife we have not seen them burying or burning those bodies. If they will not kill they still might freeze and use the bodies somehow as part of the nutrients in their “milk”.

I went back and re-watched Episode 2 and at the very beginning when Zosia is helping clean up bodies, I noticed that the truck they were putting them in had a milk logo on it. There was also a yogurt truck on the runway.

My guess is it's human bones.

Or a big table of smooshed up brains?

PH level of the human brain is 7.1-7.2. It would explain why she’s not immediately realizing what she’s looking at. It would take me a minute to go from frozen vegetables to brain jelly.

Actually I like that theory too. The main reason I'm sticking with bones (although it could be dehydrated brains or something) was the bag of that white crystalline stuff.

ETA: The more I think about it, the more I like your brain theory. That could be necessary in order for them to keep the hive mind with all the info that is lost when someone dies.

ETA2: Although then again, they have Helen's memories even though she's dead, so never mind... :)

My theory is they have to ingest a constant dose of virus or they start to recover so the 'milk' is key to getting more people out from under the spell.

I missed how she was able to make the connection between the barcode on the powder bag and the dog food. What did the screen read when she scanned it?

great episode all the way around. Much of it was like a looney tunes cartoon. Seems obvious it’s the dead in the processor cold storage, remember they said they’d only eat meat if it had died but they could not kill

There was a dog barking in the distance in one of the scenes.

We haven't seen the last of Air Force One guy. Prediction: He is going to watch the videos that Carol is making and start getting worried that she is going to cancel the gravy train. So he shows up at her home and tries to kill her.

That line from Pirate Girl about how "we can't protect you from each other" and Air Force One guy asking if the hive mind would interfere if he wanted to kill animals, that is some serious foreshadowing.

Was this a lot of nothing? Yep.

But I'm still invested.

Decent cliff hanger.

I've no idea what she could possibly have seen to cause such a reaction.

The most obvious one is something having to do with "Soylent Green is people! " Though how she'd come across that in a produce company or where things are in powder form.

I'm watching and not trashing a show, and some a-hole still gives me a DV.
