i'm getting an odd creeped out 'a quiet place' feel from this.
its the opposite of the fast, violent deaths from that movie but i get the feeling this is going to be just as disturbing in the end.
the 'happy hive' is subterfuge for something really terrible; its a tool just like the aliens who can't see but can hear very well.
they have the entire Earth's history and knowledge available in every single person and control of every radio, tv station, satellite in orbit, spy drones...and all of that is focused on watching 13 people.
that's terrifying.

Love this show and yes its a slow burn but its VG, and after BB and BCS if you can't trust him, then who can you trust?
People really seem to be stuck on the clothes thing, but the clothes you wear have some functionality, but also a bit of a social construct. Does Larry lose any functionality by wearing his bike clothes still? Probably not. Shoudlnt' affect his health. I wouldn't be surprised at some point if we get socialist style unidesign clothing.
The hive definitely feels like they are fricking with us or at some point the biological imperative will change and the gloves will come off. The analogy of trying to save a dying person was a good one, but what happens when that drowing person freaks out and tries to drown you, you fight back.
I'll take this opportunity to share my favorite tv show podcast. They started off as a GoT pod, and still cover the spinoffs, but they will usually cover a few different prestige tv shows with one episode recaps. It's very well done.

plus we don't know what theyre doing when they're called to carol's house to fix something. maybe larry was riding his bike per usual and had to get off and came to rake grenade debris out of her yard.
what exactly IS everyone doing when they're not focused on carol? we know they raided the local Sprouts which is a bit of a clue they're busy doing...something.

I just rewatched the last episode and it looks like the next episode will be available Tuesday night 8pm.
Apple TV saying Wednesday. But I'll check again at 8 just to be sure.

I’m pretty confident it will be tonight. It’s standard operating procedure for the show to release 8pm CST the night before the advertised date for Apple. My guess is it helps pad the numbers for the first “day” of streaming.

Apple TVs release time is based on Europe or something because it’s always the night before in US

What an amazing episode. I don't even know where to start. Howard as the voice recording. Hector in the opening scene drinking milk. Dumpster scene from Saul recreated. The animals are now getting more involved. What an excellent episode with an incredible cliff hanger ending. Magnificent television.

The first real cliff hanger of the show. This could be where the season really takes off

How many emmy's is a show allowed to win?

The downside of the early release this week is now we have to wait longer for the next episode.

it’s people! soylent green is people!!!

It has to be people, right? They can’t kill, allegedly, so if that is true, then maybe they are processing all those that died initially into food? And Carol will likely not want to tell the other 12 through video, but in person.

First thing I thought last night as well.
This episode was both boring and awesome at the same time. VG is great at that.
I am a bit surprised that the Hive is still doing things for her despite peacing out of town. Like they have to know what she is saying on those videos she is mailing, and understand that she is actively trying to figure out and defeat them. Seems counterintuitive to them trying to convert the 13 if they just keep helping her deliver those kinds of messages (assuming they actually are anyway, which I am not convinced).
I wonder if the substance they are using to make their goo drink is coming from people, or if it's just the space formula in a different form. Hard to think that would be her reaction though if it was just that. But also people seems a little too on the nose and obvious too.
And I'm not even sure Carol would've reacted like that if it was just people. maybe it was Helen or something like that?
I can't wait until next week to find out what's up.
How many episodes are normally in an Apple series? 10?

I read that it would be 9 episodes. So we are over half way there.

It's almost too slow a burn. I may wait until the en be of season and just binge.
I come myself getting tired watching it.

I suspect things are going to start picking up.
E6: "Carol shares a horrific discovery and learns new truths in the process. Mr. Diabaté lives life to the fullest in Sin City."

In the screen cap for next weeks episode on Apple, Mr. Diabate looks like he is living his best life.
