I’ve been looking for good turn based strategy games that scratch the xcom itch and nothing has done it for me. Seeing something similar that is Star Wars? Count me in.

Agree, I am totally stoked for this!!

Just curious, have you tried Jagged Alliance 3 yet? It's got pretty good reviews and I loved JA 2 (although I never got that far in it) but for some reason I've just had a hard time getting into 3.

XC1 had the best story, XC3 had the best combat.

XC2 was the best blend.

Pretty good assessment. I liked 3 but I doubt I ever play it again. I got tired of the multi-stage boss fights where you have to beat the same boss like 3-5 times in the same fight.

I wish they would implement the button scheme from 2 into 1. I can't stand having to quick scroll around menus to use abilities in 1.

I still haven't played X, I need to add that to my wishlist!

Smear campaign, what a joke. Sometimes people just implode for no reason at all.

This is a smear campaign about as much as putting someone in jail for murder is a smear campaign by the government... Being universally mocked for committing a 100% unforced and unnecessary error may have the appearance of some type of organized movement... but if anyone is running a smear campaign here it's God.
Man it looks and feels sooooo good too (Xenoblade 2 I mean). I picked up the Switch 2 upgrade for 1 also and played the first 5-10 hours again, but 2... I may wind up playing all the way through and trying to beat it again.

Problem fricking solved.

I've had this wishlisted for awhile and can't wait to get it!! Glad to hear it's enjoyable!!

How tf is Mondo a traitor?

Because he chose Sweden, his mother's nation? A nation that takes care of its track athletes and doesn't force the greatest pole vaulter ever to go through trials to make the Olympic team? And pays more?

Mondo only pawn in game of life...

Alright, I'm starting to get it. I've beat the first boss in two regions and have a few level 3 heroes.

But, man, am I always broke.

Nice! It's definitely not an easy game. I recommend playing on the easiest level but even then you will still lose. The game stresses me out... but in a good way.
Into the Breach gets better too the more you play it. Even after failed runs you keep your experience and unlock stuff (I think, it's been awhile since I played it).

Also there are I think three different unit sets that you eventually unlock, and each plays differently.

It really is a great game.
Times nicely with the announcement about ending physical discs...

I have tried to get into 2 also but I just can't. I have yet to beat 1 but I still love it and won't complain about more DLC for it!
Beavis and Butt-head

yeah, yeah
I've played Into the Breach and it is a fantastic little strategy game well worth $5!!

I've also played Shadow Tactics and it looks very cool but I also bought it on sale and shelved it after a few missions to play some other stuff I bought on sale.

Still for $3.99 you can't go wrong! I haven't played the other 2.

Thanks for the info, guys. You definitely can interact with the environment to an extent (containers with a "breakable" icon) but I can already see (to an extent) the "vanilla" argument being relevant.

I am going to spend some more time with it but not sure if it'll hold my attention for the lengh of the game. The first couple of
hours have been very enjoyable, although I think waiting for a sale is definitely a good idea.

Opinions on Avowed?

I picked up Avowed awhile back on sale on my PS5 and finally got around to spending a couple of hours with it. So far I am really enjoying it. Has anyone else played this and have any opinions of it? Seems like I remember reading some negativity about it awhile back, but can't remember what it was related to.

So far the game feels like an improved Skyrim set in the Pillars of Eternity universe. I'm enjoying the combat and the story to this point, but again I'm only a couple of hours in...

Are the stories of SMT connected?

As far as I know, they are all stand-alone stories even though the themes and plots between the ones I've played (4, 5, and Nocturne) are similar. I have yet to beat any of them though so it is possible the "universes" are connected.
I'm coming at it the opposite way... I've played 5 (although I still haven't beaten it, I'm about 25 hours in) and I liked it so much that I bought Nocturne and have been playing that recently. I am still in the first 5-10 hours or so of Nocturne, but I think if you like it you will love 5!
Yes, it is really good. I have it on my Switch and 5 is fantastic. I love the mix of exploration, fusing, and combat!

Nintendo has great battery technology

They forgot to implement this into the switch 2

Man this no lie. The battery life of the Switch 2 itself (haven't tried the Pro 2 controller) is absolute garbage. I can get maybe 2 solid hours of gameplay max on a full charge before the Low Battery warning starts flashing. That limits its usefulness on long flights and places where you may have limited charging options.

Just be aware - If you want to be able to turn on your switch 2 with the controller you need the switch 2 pro controller. The original pro controller will work, but it will not wake your system. Very lame move by nintendo.

Totally agree on this one. It's one of the big reasons I'm considering getting a Switch 2 Pro controller, but I'm also debating not getting one just on principle.

It's worth it in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of the joycons and the Pro controller just feels solid and well-built in your hand. The battery life is very good on them and I feel like I have better control over just about every game when I'm using it over the joycons.
