re: Who hasn't played Battle Brothers? - DesertFox
Yes, you pick up quests (contracts) in the towns on the map, and you have to balance the risk of losing your guys versus the rewards for completing the contract. Your guys can get injured (sometimes permanently) and if they die, they're gone for good. Your band of guys kind of create their own sto...

re: Question about Dunkirk - DesertFox
Now THAT is more like what I'd expect to see. Burnt-out vehicles, smoke/fire, wounded soldiers, and men eveywhere you look. Not a pristine beach with a few lines of soldiers and one burnt-out anti-aircraft gun. I'll have to check that movie out, I've never heard of it!...

re: Question about Dunkirk - DesertFox
Finally watched this last night for the first time, and while I thought it was a good movie, I think Nolan missed the mark on telling the full story and capturing the epic scale of the real-life event. The real Dunkirk involved thousands of British civilians banding together and putting themselves ...

re: Who hasn't played Battle Brothers? - DesertFox
I have it, and highly recommend it if you enjoy turn-based strategy. The combat is similar to the Heroes of Might & Magic series, and the procedurally-generated world makes every game different. It reminds me a little of the Mount & Blade games but in 2D. One note though, it is HARD, so expect to...

Streaming audio or video for the game? - DesertFox
Hi everyone, I was thrilled to find out that I'm going to be stuck on a plane (to go to a wedding in Alaska) during the game. Does anyone know off-hand if the game audio (or preferably video) is going to be streamed? I don't care if it's a pay service or not, I just need to find somewhere I c...

re: Do you think we need a solid Civil War era game? - DesertFox
There actually already is a very good Civil War game out there. It is similar to the tactical battle part of Total War, although MUCH better (and more realistic) IMO. The smallest unit you control is a regiment, so it does away with issues you'd have controlling one soldier (like reloading). It...

Nobody else on here was stunned by Jacob's Ladder? I actually figured out 6th Sense about midway through the movie because Jacob's Ladder made me start watching for things like that in movies. ...
Chappy isnt' laughing at that.
LMAO nice one!! I actually enjoyed Iron Eagle, although I was like 12 when I saw it and actually watched it in the theater. It might suck now. Good call on Red Dawn. I saw that one recently and militarily it is pretty ridiculous. I'll pro...

re: Band of Brothers worth getting on DVD? - DesertFox
What all these guys said... I have the box set and I have probably watched the series all the way through no less than 10 times. It is great for marathons on Memorial Day weekend or pretty much any time. You won't regret buying it. There are a few great features in the box set too like a glo...

re: Having trouble with my new HD TV and my PS3 picture... - DesertFox
I'd definitely take meauxjeaux's advice here before going out and buying a cable. You will likely see some improvement with a new cable but meauxjeaux sounds like he speaks from experience and it will hopefully fix the crappy quality problem. Daygo, what you're talking about is not unheard of (e...

re: Hawthorne has got to go - DesertFox
I for one love Hawthorne. OK so he makes some mistakes. I wonder how many people on here could do radio broadcasts as long as he has and not screw up. He's the voice of LSU sports to me... I just hope he doesn't try to revive that singing career... ...
