For one, I know who Scoot McNairy is from Halt and Catch Fire. So when I was sitting through the credits and saw Jimmy Olsen's name pop up next to his all I could think was WTF? He was JO, they didn't name him, and they shot him in the face after 30 seconds of screen time?

You need to Google who Scoot McNairy is because he wasn't Jimmy Olsen. You're so pissed you don't even know what you're pissed about.

Ok yes, in my haste to write up my feelings on this I mixed security guard Lieutenant Dan up with Michael Cassidy who I've seen in things like The OC. Big whoop. Sorry for mixing up two generic looking actors that were in incredibly minor roles.

The point still stands that I was watching the credits and Jimmy Olsen's name came up and I was shocked that he was in the movie as the dude that got his face shot off and wasn't even given the courtesy of being named on screen.

So spare me with your flippant "u mad" garbage.

Again, the point is it was an asinine thing to do and is a perfect example of Snyder's attitude towards the property he is working with. It was a blatant, childish, and pointless middle finger to fans of DC overall and Superman comics in specific.

That specific moment is not even the focus of why I thought the movie was mediocre but it is one of many examples of Snyder either not understanding or not caring about the source material. The simple fact that he said doing that was "having fun with the character" is a complete joke and makes him sound like a troll.

You're repeating bitches that you've read online. Scoot McNairy was the rumored Jimmy Olsen and you went with it, hook, line, and sinker.

No, I'm really not. They were both in the movie and I simply mixed the names up. I actually avoided as much press about the flick going in as I could b/c I didn't want anything to be spoiled. I had absolutely no idea JO was in the movie until I saw his name in the credits.

and who played them literally has nothing to do with my problem with Snyder doing that to a character like Jimmy Olsen.

Hey, have you guys seen the rotten tomatoes score for civil war? I'm sure you have because that thread turned into a sequel for this one.

That's because BvS is like a disease...infecting competent fans and movie goers with disappointment and rage.

Even if it was a flawed film, you have no right to enjoy any part of it or walk away feeling in any part satisfied. So let it be written, so let it be done. You take it back...now.

The movie was amazing IMO. It is one of the few to depict Superheroes IRL. I can watch marvel and everything else and get my jollies.

But taking the two most legendary sacred cows and having the drama played out for real with real consequences is epic.

Zack Snyder just underestimated how many people preferred the fantasies and flowers of Christopher Reeves Superman of the '80's, who never punched anyone, and preferred soap opera-esque drama, much like the critics

It had its imperfections

But it broke free from the mold and gave us something awesome and fresh

Or he sucks at telling a coherent story. Look, I'm glad I saw BvS on the big screen, but it was far from amazing.

I swear, some of you guys have this weird "me against the world" mentality when it's not needed. Enjoy the movie. Go for it. Let us hate it if we want to. Just because we hate it doesn't mean that has to ruin your enjoyment. It goes both ways, bro.

And just because you enjoy it doesn't mean it isn't flawed, or even a good movie. I like lots of terrible movies, just not this one.

You want a fantasy, how about Batman launching an elaborate plan to take down Superman and being on the cusp of achieving his goals when he learns Superman's mother's name, and stops?

Now that is a fantasy.

That scene would have gone over better if they had Bruce ruminating over Alfred's comment about Superman not being the enemy plus weighing all Supes' heroic actions. Then, his Road to Damascus moment would have played better.

Instead, we got "Must kill Superman. Must kill Superman... Oh, your mom's Martha, too? Never mind."
