Just basically said he was uncomfortable for the gay people in the crew and audience that were the butt of the joke…the joke wasn’t even about Andy being gay

The only gay I’m aware of Norm bullying was Chris Kattan, and Kattan fully deserved since he was one of the biggest assholes in SNL history.

I think he was really, really good friends with Billy Joe Shaver, someone who would not run in the other Hollywood circles.

If you haven't watched yet (or recently), the Billy Joe episode of Norm MacDonald Has a Show on Netflix is fantastic.

I only got to see Billy Joe live once, and it was a memorable experience. Only got to see Norm live once, and it was a memorable experience. It was so cool to find out they were friends, and I'd always liked the idea of maybe seeing them onstage together some day.

His McManus character in Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo still makes me cry laughing to this day.

Kattan isn't gay though. And one reason Norm fricked with him is because he used to always try to suck up to the female hosts and frick them (see the Jim Breuer Pam Anderson story).

Breuer has made a career off of telling Norm's stories.

He's the J. Peterman to Norm's Kramer.

Has Andy ever apologized for being part of this video?

Appears literally after an anti-gay joke at Jordan's expense.

Funny thing about that was Norm actually kissed Pam in the sketch where he played Tommy Lee. Always got the last laugh.

Isn't he though? To hear that story told by Brewer his antics were about trying to make people think he was straight.

My guess (after hearing the Kattan/McDonald/Pam story told by Brewer) was Kattan was probably an insecure douche and Norm was happy to take pot shots at him whenever he could get in a good sucker punch.

For me, Norm's greatest comedic performance ever is not Weekend Update, it's not the ESPYs, it's not his talk show appaerances, but it's easily the YouTube live premiere red carpet show when he showed up in sweatpants and a hoodie.

The genius in this segment and the chaos typhoon that Norm brought is unparalleled. Him doing laps around the "comedian" guests and hosts is the purest from of Norm comedy I think we've ever seen.

I always took it as Kattan wasn't gay and would just try to bang every hot host that he could. And he's be writing sketches where he got to make out with them, or constantly be harassing them to hang out or go to the afterparty, and all that. Like I took it as he was just super unprofessional and selfishly tried to get his.

On top of that, the story isn't even funny if Kattan is actually gay. The funny comes in when Norm cockblocks him by telling Pam Anderson that he's gay.

I guess you listened to the Brewer comments but just figured he must be wrong

It would only be funny if you believe he was an a-hole. Norm was the kind of guy who would relentlessly pick on people that he detested - most famously OJ, the Clintons, and Michael Jackson
