I’ve always respected him as the self doer take no prisoner man’s man. The last of us episode 3 really changed my views on him and unsure why he would take on such a role that doesn’t suit him.

If it was the same story with a woman counterpart, would you feel the same way?

It was a good performance. You're just bothered by the gay aspect which is a you problem.

I would not feel the same way no. Not because of it being a woman but more because it suits the story better in nicks character

The characters he portrays or the actor himself?

Then you know nothing about his personal views and simply attributed his Ron Swanson portrayal to Offerman’s personality.

Lord. The episode was too long and boring, but the handwringing over two gay men kissing for ten seconds is out of control.

He's gay in the game lore. The show just did a deep dive into it.

The funny thing about that episode, it has literally no bearing on the show other than, "we got some supplies from that house".

He’s already being discussed as being deserving of an Emmy for his performance. I doubt he regrets this.

He's always been pretty far left as far as politics go. Not sure why him taking that role would surprise you. I'm kind of surprised the show isn't catching flack for giving a gay role to a straight man.

It doesn't really change my opinion of him.

Anyone not bothered by that appearing on tv is the problem.

The issue is that if every character in every tv and movie was gay or trans from here on out it still wouldn't be enough for them. They need to be a victim now. It is just a thing with people in the US now. People need to be victims. No one can pull themselves up by their bootstraps and take on anything now.

Maybe he didn't want to play an alphabet stereotype, but just got sucked into the role? He says his wife made him do it, without detailing how.
