Finally watching this movie...its not as bad as some were saying, but nobody was wrong about how insufferable the girl lead was. Its like they took a good story and Disney demanded that they shoehorn in the worst, most annoying boss babe idiot of all time

I'm so confused, that doesn't sound like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade to me.

Old Indy cgi’d looked like Deniro and Pacino in the Irishman. I wish they would just let it die.

Remember in The Naked Gun movies when Leslie Nielsen rubbed the birthmark off Gorbachev's head? Every time I see that hideous gash I want to wipe that Ash Wednesday smudge off her forehead.

so it's a bad movie.

this is a weird set of mental gymnastics your are practicing to try and make a bad movie sound good. This isn't some off shoot character that is on screen for 30 seconds in a cringe worthy moment. You keep trying to convince us that if you remove one of the principle characters then the movie would be good, thus it IS good.

Newest Indiana Jones Movie

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is over 30 years old, my guy.

(Everything else is fan fiction. Poorly done, at that.)

What's better is that he was in the middle of watching it when he posted about it. Now he says the ending sucked but hey, take away the main character and ending and middle and beginning and the movie is not bad.

The plan was to have her replace Indy going forward.

But that movie wasn't "that bad"?

OK.

What happened to Chris Pratt being his son or something and continuing the franchise?

I know people have Pratt fatigue but I think he would kill it in that role, and then you're not ruining an existing character but just expanding the franchise.

I was only halfway through. Whoever wrote this film had to be a woman. It just got dumber and dumber.

Spoilers:

A proper ending to IJ saga was for him to stay in past. But no he still somehow had "purpose" to what stay for...what? elderly Marion who divorced him??

How on earth are we to believe that Indy was punched so hard by a scrawny woman that he was knocked out? And even more absurdly that he was knocked out for the 30 hour trip back home

Already shown in the previous movie, with Indy and Marion at the alter, and their son Mutt there with them.

If they wanted to do it, you could have Pratt just be Indy and go back and tell more stories set in the 30s. In between Raiders and Last Crusade (Pratt’s already 5 years older than Ford was in Raiders) Pratt has the gravitas to pull it off if there are stories to tell. And I don’t think there are. Do we really want to see the various Indy exploits in feature length when he’s not busy saving the world?

Or we can just leave the series what it is. Three great movies and a very good TV series. If you’ve never checked out Young Indy chronicles, you should. Crystal Skull was unnecessary but at least it still felt like an Indy movie. The last one never felt like one.
