No one's going to make you watch it, snowflake.

But it exists.
I could search for Dear Santa on Netflix and accidentally watch a moment of this series instead.
Better that it wasn't there.

Well if the reception is anything like the trailer on YouTube it will be forgotten in a month. I mean DAMN.

Didn't the election sort of reject this SJW fake grandstanding?
Okay...I guess I am out of touch because I went to college in the 90's - but according to Netflix, during the most regressive-progressive period in college campuses...there are students walking around in blackface?
Something nobody did 25 years ago before PC police...but with PC police, students are doing it?

I think Baloo's review was fairly on point. Politics, race, class, and culture have become harder to talk about over the last 30 years. It is sometimes hard to remember we don't have to agree on these issues in order to better understand another person's perspective. The movie title implies a monologue of limited perspective (and devoid of introspection) - but the product is better than that.

I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be satire, at least to an extent. Read Baloo's post on the previous page.

I did write that review pre-Trump, so class has become more of a political issue since I wrote it, but I still think it holds water. I think my major problem is getting a lecture on privilege from someone attending an Ivy League college, making them one of the most privileged human beings on the planet. It doesn't invalidate your argument, but have some self-awareness.
And I do think the barriers we put up make it harder for us to relate to our common human experience. Race is a social construct anyway.

I don't mind another race making fun of the stupid shite us white people do
Let me know when white people are allowed to make fun of other races and have it celebrated as art.

On a related note, how are amazon prime and hulu stacking up against Netflix these days?

I haven't seen it, but from some of the reviews I read I thought that was kind of the point?

And she was fine as shite.
But the movie was pretty weak.
ETA: Just watched the trailer. Netflix Sam is really disappointing.

Yeah, horrible movies just fall arse backwards into a 91 rating and critical acclaim.
I've never seen this movie, but bad movies get good ratings and critical acclaim all the time

Dont be such a fricking pussy dude. Go watch A Million Ways to Die in the West, Ted, or any other Seth MacFarlane work if you want to see race jokes by a white guy so badly. Go ahead and toss in some Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, and Lisa Lampanelli stand up while you're at it.

The movie may have been. Based on the trailer, I have a hard time believing that the show will follow suit.
Especially when this is the guy responsible for writing the show -
